Managed a test drive today while the sun was out briefly. Cruise control works perfectly, definitely no programming required. If anyone is nervous about doing this retrofit themselves, don’t be. The hardest part is “routing the blue wire through to the black box”, nothing technical!Zedebee wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 9:42 pm Finally fitted my cruise control today. Thanks to SRHUTCH for the loom and instructions. Being a relative novice, I didn’t find anything easy about this job, but did have a great sense of satisfaction when I reconnected the battery and the car didn’t explode. Just need a break in the weather before I can test it.![]()

What have you done to your car today?
Fitted some winter wheels today, picked these up on eBay, style 388 from a 2 series. they’re a squared set up which I’m not convinced about but as I hardly use the car in the winter and they’re mainly to sit it on until I can get my 108’s fixed, they’ll do.

Oh and it looks great![]()

They do not come with any kind of retaining clip (plastic, you have to reuse the original). They are way thicker than the original. (which you have to peel and scrape off.) Mines a base level car and the quality is superior to the original, but maybe not so on other models. I still have to do the handbrake, which I know is going to take even longer. I haven't driven the car since installing and the clips are quite stressed and the boot may pop out. If it does a few small tapping screws around the the outer shell and the plastic insert will probably sort this without any other major modification, and which will be hidden from view.
Hope this helps.

Cheers Kev.

Done a few aesthetic ones this week:
- Bought some refurbed black powder coated MV2s and fitted to the car.
- Wrapped them in Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 tyres yesterday.
- Fitted some matte black grilles this morn (but unfortunately my front left headlight has gone misty).

Finally got round to changing both drive belts. The longer belt was in a poor state, which I noticed when I sorted the vanos. Good feeling to have the new belts on.

Quick wash then fitted the Z4 forum.com sticker to the rear window, bit of a pain getting it in place needed warming up to get it to transfer onto the inside of the glass.

They look good but those rear rims look very vulnerable/exposed, or is it just the picture? what width is the wheel/tyre?Z4_ATB wrote: Sat Nov 21, 2020 9:20 pm Fitted genuine E46 19” M3 wheelsJust need some spacers for the front now

The rear tyres look too narrow. Any slight kerbing will end in tears.Argyll Andy wrote: Sat Nov 21, 2020 9:36 pmThey look good but those rear rims look very vulnerable/exposed, or is it just the picture? what width is the wheel/tyre?Z4_ATB wrote: Sat Nov 21, 2020 9:20 pm Fitted genuine E46 19” M3 wheelsJust need some spacers for the front now

Sometimes you have to compromise to do something different - it would have been easy to throw on some 19” ET35’s but was never going to be easy with an ET27 rear when lowered on H&R
I had a 4 vert with 20’s dropped on its ass and didn’t kerb it in 3 years
- to be fair, if you kerb your alloys you’ve got to ask yourself whether you should even be driving...

I wasn’t thinking about kerbing, on the roads up here I’d be worried about potholes or stones etc on the road, the rim just looks so close to the tarmac with what looks like little or no protection from the picture. I was wondering more if a wider tyre would protect the rim better
