What have you done to your car today?

I fitted a full set of MTEC drilled discs and Mintex pads

Don't worry, wheels were included in the wash later!

Took the Zed up to Bodmin Moor today to stretch it's legs. :driving:

Then home washed dried and tucked away until next time. :D

My E Type Jag came from Bodmin.
I imported into Australia in 2007.

That explains the a local tale. The Beast of Bodmin. It roamed the moors for years and then mysteriously vanished, so the legend goes. :o

Obvious to me now. They where talking about your E-type. :D

I think we all need to see some photos of The Beast of Bodmin don't we? After all :worthless:

Not such a beast at the moment
Sepang bronze coupe with three wiper blades, very rare! 🤣

You look like you have a big job on your hands. 👍🏻

Opalescent Golden Sand to be exact.
November ‘61 build, chassis #175. Starting reassembly this week after engine out for lower timing chain tensioner fail. Subsequent painting, detailing and front suspension rebuild.
Sorry, a bit off topic.

A bit of preventative maintenance on the DISA-

X8R upgrade kit fitted

Simple job but another peace of mind one- and the pin in the old one was 'ok' but not 'safe!

MOT passed today, one advisory (brake pipe under passenger seat). Another little job to do soon.

How bad was the pipe Kev? Just trying to gauge mine over replacing it
It’s a bit crusty on the bend before it goes behind the plastic undercover, annoyingly the other pipe has been replaced. Why the PO didn’t do both at the same time!!!

Took my Zed to my trusted Indi BMW garage for Brake fluid & Coolant change. He gave it a health check whilst it was there. Couldn't fault it. :driving: He said it was in great shape and well cared for. 16 years old 76k and only failed one MOT in its life and that was the headlight aim.
Well chuffed. :trampoline:

Failed it's MOT. Knew about the snapped front spring - I supplied the garage with new ones to fit, but turns out my brake lines are not passable. I knew they were marginal but hoping they would be good until after the winter. Waiting to get a quote for the work; don't mind working on my own car but brake lines are a bit beyond my reach.

Good news is that everything else is good; just the lines need replacing, front and back :|

Did my brake pipes across rear axle last year bit fiddly but glad I did them they were rotten was well worth the effort.
Just finished renewing ccv valve & piping another fiddly job ticked off. Hopefully no oil smell in car now ( fingers crossed)

Noticed the right side back box had suddenly dropped an inch. On investigation, the two flange brackets have cracked. Which I gather is not that uncommon? Repair kit on order.

Hi Buzyg,

You were not on the road at 12:05 today on billacombe road?

Also do you have a link to the repair kit? My RH Exhaust looks lik it has rotated (Clockwise) a little.

Took the front off (to get to my headlights!)

LHS was misted and RHS had a damaged clip

Both done and ready to install tomorrow

In other news though, I was embarrassed with what I found at the front- its clearly had 2x frontals as the front bumper was 2006 (on a 2004 car) and thats been repaired...

The repair did a shocking job- one fog lamp was held on by black mastic. Once I'd removed the top 7 bolts the front just fell off and all sorts of bodgery in the wheel arches

Still- would rather know than not eh-

MOT for me . First one in my ownership and 18 months since the last one done by the previous owners garage. Which seemed a little 'shady' as a month after I bought it , had a broken rear spring and all discs were worn to the limit, yet had no advisories. After a few bits of work by me, was given a clean sheet and remarked on being as clean underneath as much as above. Spent time poking round brake pipes at the rear which are as new and no corrosion, rear arm bushes which were spot on and exhaust manifold to system bolts which were a little tired but no real rush to do. So celebrated with a drive out with the missus, which proved a pain as the M4 was closed around us and all the roads were chocker of people having no idea where they were going and crashing
Picture of the MOT and no, thats not air suspension on the front, he was checking wishbones, bushes, shocks and springs etc.

just got back from fourm member JimRob who vey kindly used his Carly to program the roof to go down with the key and clear all the old codes. Great bloke, really appreciate the coding :D

Cleaned my car mats using a mini carpet cleaner. You can see how much dirt there was in the background. Aiming to do the car carpets soon.
