2 1/2 hrs negotiating.... We went from another £1200 on top for another build for December delivery, then to we’ll offer a goodwill gesture of going halves on the £1200 then to a January build at half the £1200 to finally them giving up and giving the March new build for the original price.

I did say I wasn’t going to budge. :)

Build problem update

To be fair to them the head honcho there has agreed with me that a clearer system needs to be put in place for customers to have a good idea when times up for a build. They don’t have a lockdown date like Porsche as BMW vary their build slots by around a week or so apparently at a whim, fine, but if the customer doesn’t know that then things like this happen, so I suggested a two week period from point of sale contract signing for any amendments to the customers spec or something similar. Just makes sense to me.

That surprises me as when I ordered the M, it said that any tax or duty changes were for the customer in the contract

Not been a straightforward normal sale though has it Paul, I can only assume that since in a nutshell it was the same price as before or I walk they’ve assumed I meant the import tax included with that.

Let’s be realistic though, they’re still making their margin out of the sale, just not quite as much extra on top that they’d like. That’s fine, no one's held a gun at my head making me buy one, I know roughly the profits they make and if I want a new build I have to accept it, but I’m happy with sticking to my principles and not letting them brow beat me.

Sooooooo glad I didn’t accept the Cognac in the first place, the new car was there and the interior looked washed out and quite frankly only fit for someone aged and with no taste.... :P
