You need a Carly adapter to plug in and code the changes!

You have 4 options................

1. Wire them up and have the eyebrows (sidelights) see first pic!
2. Remove the sidelight bulbs and live with the warning light on the dash!
3. Keep the sidelight bulbs in, and just tuck them up out of the way!
4. Have them coded out!

There is a thread on here "somewhere" of member who have Carly and their location! z4 lights.jpgZ4 lights 1.jpeg

Out of curiosity what's involved in coding them out? Would you just not wire them up and code out the bulb check I assume? Asking as I'm looking to get these and just bought a Carly adapter

Does anyone else have a problem with the indicator lighting up when you switch your sidelights on? I’ve fitted canbus error free bulbs but makes no difference. I also get a bulb out warning light. It’s pissing me off.

that is odd as the indicators are on a separate connector are they not?, tbh i can't remember 100% but it maybe worth pulling the light out and having a proper luck at the wiring loom and connectors

So I’m told. I’ve heard the plugs on the lights are a weak point. I read this from a forum member. He rewired his apparently with the proper plugs.???

The car does this to indicate a bulb out on that side. Replace the sidelight in the eyebrow with a regular bulb, if it clears you know it’s the LEDs. CANBUS LEDs are, frankly, rubbish. They just include a resistor to mimic the load, it’s nothing clever. Average W5W LED packages are not that effective at dissipating the heat so frequently have very short lifespans. Get a decent brand e.g. Philips or Osram and code out the checks.
These lights also have a resistor package under the light for the indicator, so if you find fast flashing with a bulb out it may be that. Again the checks can be coded out.
