That's a weird one. :(

I expect it can be rectified, but could be awkward to get to and not sure what the repair would end up looking like.

I would imagine you would be able to get a smart repair done on that. It should stop the crack from spreading further.

Nothing there has ever been removed.
Must be a stress crack.
Depends what the moulding shape is behind.

I’d be interested in any solutions as I have a crack in the same position on my 2010 E89. Again, nothing has been removed or bumped against it. I only noticed it cleaning the dash a couple of weeks ago.

I think that I would be more tempted to leave it as it is rather than attempt a repair - It would nevertheless bug me :thumbsdown:
