Bolster repair

Post by Rizel23 » Sun Jun 21, 2020 5:55 pm

Need to repair drivers seat bolster and few scuffs on seats, want a Matt finish.

Tried the cheap polish dyes and not that impressed, can anyone recommend product to repair to Matt finish? Thanks

Use the colour coded dye from furnitureclinic.co.uk, check my thread and you'll see they sell a quality kit.

Yes, I saw your thread as well, it was great. With reference to the OP, what would you do with this? Would you apply a filler, or is the base colour bottle enough to dab on?
I have the FC repair kit and just was interested to see how someone with experience would tackle the above issue.

I didn't need to use filler on my bolster at all if that gives you an idea. I used filler in other areas of the seat due to scratches most likely caused by back-pocket buttons. So to answer your question just a few coats of dye would make that seat look perfect.

Sure;

I’ve placed many fine layers, let dry, buff then tans the shine off somewhat with Autoglym leather cleaner. Seems to hold up well

Use a sponge to apply, let dry, buff then leather clean to remove shine, repeat 👍

Just used this product on my 2003 E85. Absolutely amazing. After one application the fade on the driver seat edge has been covered.
