Another wheel fitment question...

Post by smokie » Tue Jun 30, 2020 6:38 pm

Hello fellow Z4 owners. I just picked up a E85 2008 Z4 3.0 Roadster!

As many of you have, I'm looking to upgrade the wheels. I searched and searched for this and couldn't find anything definitive. I THINK these wheels should work, but want to double check with the pros. This may have been answered somewhere out there but I just couldn't find it.

I'm looking to install some factory Z4M wheels on it.

Front wheels are 18 x 8 with a +42 offset
Rear wheels are 18 x 8.5 with a +30 offset

So my question is... Will they fit?

Thanks!

Also, while I have your attention... How easy is it to replace the convertible top motor?

The rears are 9J, yes they will fit but may or may not rub On the rear with standard Z4M rubber depending on a number of variables, but you can run 255 35 18’s and you should be fine

Welcome to the forum smokie.

Maybe post an introduction on the Newbies section, but if you do make sure you include photos!

Anyway assuming you mean Style 224 wheels from an M (which are 9J rears as True-Blue says) they should fit, but may be a bit tight on the rears as they will sit at least 20mm further out than the non-M staggered 18s like 107s, 108s, etc.

Here is a gallery of how different wheels look - there are 2 red E85s with 224s fitted on Page 13.

I've no idea about the roof motor though as I've only had Coupes.
Coupes because stunning!
