Hi, I’ve just been to Yeovil bmw to order a pair of salmon roof relays & the parts guy there kindly agreed to match a 10% discount on parts (which i used to receive from the Chelmsford dealership) for z4-forum members.
He did mention he’d like to see some form of proof of membership, so I’d suggest taking your phone to show some forum log in details etc.
I think that was worth asking for
Rob

There seems to be a run on salmon relays at the moment, luckily I ordered mine before the price goes up :D

I always use Cotswold BMW for parts (https://www.cotswoldgroup.com/bmw/). I think they had some sort of discount scheme going with BMWLand forums but I just mention I want a forum discount and they take some money off. Free delivery too. Worth adding them into the mix when getting quotes.

+1 for Cotswold BMW, they might give bigger discount + free delivery so worth considering

When I was in the trade I used to just ask the dealers of whichever marque for a trade discount which ranged from 5 to 20% and would always get it, some required an order on a letterhead or compliment slip but most didn't. I still use it and get it without any problems. Here in Spain a few weeks ago managed to haggle a 13% discount from BMW without mentioning club / trade etc, I thought it was a miracle since they don't usually like giving discounts here.

Another +1 for Cotswold BMW. I got 11.6% discount and free postage from them when I bought my ZHP.

But I've also had bits from Sopers of Lincoln who give a forum discount and free postage.

When I called BMW Santa Monica for a quote on a new battery two months ago the parts guy quoted me $250, the on-line price from BMW. When I told him others are offering the same part no. for less than $200, he just said "ok, we can do that". That's 20% off just like that. I felt like I was in a bazar, very strange. Same with Volvo here in LA. If you go to the dealer's parts counter they charge you around 25% more than if you just order it on their website, then go pick it up at the very same counter. Weird. It shows you that, on-line where they have to really compete they charge much less than to their loyal service customers who bring in their car for service. Because guaranteed those people pay the maximum price.

Agreed. The internet makes price comparison so easy there are apps for it and everybody selling knows it, whatever the product is.
