Yep, only been following since last September. It is the same few cars cycling around :-/

I'm not sure mine could be considered "cycling around". The guy before me had it for 5 years, before him about 5 years and Simon/Jasmin LeBon. I'm selling because I am driving it way too much.

It was advertised by Zedwheels in June 2017 with the following info which is quite encouraging for a future owner,

Regretably due to owners age and health related issues I am putting my Alpina up for sale.
Saphire Black with Black leather interior, all standard specifications no modifications.
New window regulators to both doors.
New top mounts, shocks, discs and pads all round.
New tyres.
New front wishbones and lollipops. ect.
Both cam belts replaced.
Paintwork looks really good, some small marks to two wheels.
Next service due in 9000 miles.
New MOT until July 2018.
Full service history, some BMW others by my trusted BMW self employed mechanic.
Fabulous car that's been looked after.
Mileage 134k
£11995
2003 2.5 SE, low miles, Sterling Grey, 108's & Eagles, no stubby here! Unmolested.

Yes my old one was a red Lux #344
So one of the last ones.

It’s still around but seems from the mot records that it’s tucked up in a collection as done relatively few miles since...

No servicing history prior to 2014, no logbook/service book. Unsure if running in service was performed.

The Dealer that it was bought from (High Wickham) is out of business. Thus they claim they thus cannot obtain records

Romans own the car, hence cannot get in touch with old owner (I would imagine would be a cinch to find the running in service from credit card payment).

1. Does BMW not keep a central store of service records?

2. Any kind of inspection that could provide peace of mind?

3. Should I just walk away?

Is it worth giving the service department at Sytners Nottingham a call? After all they are the Uk importers for Alpina and may have some or more info than most. All ways worth a call. :)

Hi,

I am the current (3rd) owner of #339 Roadster S Lux in Alpina Blue and will be looking to sell shortly (I've owned it since 2011).

All recently serviced, bodywork decent, wheels refurbed last year, everything original, tyres good Michelin PS2 7mm, MOT Aug.

I will be advertising early Feb after it has been in to have some work done due to either a sensor or loom fault which is stopping the roof working properly.. spend 5k on it last year for suspension and new steering module.. so all of the regular issues are sorted! All original stuff present including leather wallet, mats and the infamous wind deflector!.. servicing done by reputable indy and all records regular and in tact.

You'll find it on the Alpina register #339: https://www.thealpinaregister.com/Roads ... rtible/339. Currently at 86k miles.

Please PM here or on the alpina forum (Wobblewing) if interested, but won't be ready for a couple of weeks yet!

Cheers
Andy

Sytner - No history
Few other london BMW - no history
BMW info line (after £10 cost) - no history, nothing actually on their system

:-? Well, I'm losing some confidence in this.
