New Shoes and Socks

Post by Chidda » Wed Oct 09, 2019 1:29 pm

So I got some new shoes and socks for the boy today after trying hard (but failing) to love the 108s:

Got some refurbed Style 32 staggered rims - exact same offset as the 108s.
Then wrapped them all in Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 5's 225/40 front with 12mm spacers and 255/35 rear with 15mm spacers.

Gives a much better overall look (in my biased opinion).
Mixed up Kiwi/Swiss half-breed.

How many miles were on the old shocks? What shocks did you put on and how's the ride?

No new shocks - sorry, I was trying to be cute with "shoes and socks" rather than "wheels and tyres".

The 32s are a good bit lighter than the 108s (or any other 18inch Bmw wheel for that matter ) so its a winwin situation :driving:

Yeah. I couldn’t believe how light they were when they arrived. Spent a couple of hours this weekend whacking a couple of coats of Maxcoat wheel guard sealant on the before the tyres were fitted.

To the best of my knowledge there isn't a lighter OE Bmw wheel in any size than the staggered 18inch 32 with et 50 et 47 from E46 ( all the other sized style 32 are not lightweight )

They look great OP.

I've always liked the look of the 32s, and they make a change from the 224s and CSLs so many Coupes have now.
Coupes because stunning!

Wheels suit the car and as has been said, a change from csl’s etc. I am a fan of lightweight wheels, reducing unstrung weight where you can does make a difference though more so on the track than the road. Nice looking coupe.

That's a bit harsh isn't it? Taking the p*ss because someone (not from the UK) might not know the slang for tyres and wheels?

Seems to be a trend developing here!

Mods.....do we have to put up with this numpty?

My 7-y-o grandson is taking an interest in Zs and occasionally looks over my shoulder at this forum.
Obviously I keep him away from the NSFW threads, but do I now need to vet every entry for language like this?
HQ of 'Norfolk Zed Rescue'.
Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!
