Rear window demister

Post by Sen07 » Tue Oct 08, 2019 3:01 pm

Battling rear demister issues on 2005 z4

My hood motor has been relocated to boot don’t know if has anything to do with it.

Element on the windscreen itself all looks in tact
Changed fuses in glove box, they were not blown
Replaced missing relay behind glove box, don’t know why it was missing...
As far as I can tell the battery has not been replaced in a long while looks like an approved used battery from BMW therefore I don’t think the car has been in transport mode
Blower operates as per normal

Still no joy not heating up , the button illuminates when turned on.

Does anyone have a guide as to where the wiring/ earth is so that I can check this next? Or what next course of action should I take

I've not tried as of yet, however I was planning to strip the wires back a little, solder them and use shrink wrap to protect it. 👍👍

Given the space restrictions to solder without removing roof- after stripping wires back a little I opted for a yellow male spade connector to join the cables back up and protected this as best possible. Mister Worked perfectly across entire screen this morning.
