Have 35is prices bottomed out yet?
I think you would easily get into one for a grand a month and with just a few K up front. Factor that it's brand new and also you won't need to pay for warranty, replace the tyres or brakes and it's not a whole lot more.
Not saying it's cheaper, but the delta between a new car and an old one isn't actually that big.

I hope you’re correct as my 35is was built Aug 16 and registered Sept 16 - as I’m not intending to sell soon it’s just the feel good factor at this point.
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

But E89's arent that desirable to start bumping up money...
Yes they are a decent 2 seater with a good turn of speed, but there is no way they are going north on price.
They nicest examples are taking a long time to sell to diehards, the lower end are of the market are just liking the newer top end Z4 feel for minimum cash

It's definately desirable as its got a lot going for it such as looks, a tuneable engine, its fast, low tax band, emissions, still feels contemporary yet traditional, is a coupe when you want it to be, rarer than the equivalent Porsche and less to maintain.. etc.
When I was looking they seemed to be selling within days of going on the market with deposits being left without the car even being viewed. ( at non main dealers ). Hard to find an older one with sensible mileage and Nav at below £16000 these days

Having had mine for a few months now they are desirable except for the woeful chassis. Fix that then it’s all .... plan to add Eibach ARB and new bushes to mine.

That does indeed appear at least £3k-£5k under what would be expected dealer fodder so don't be surprised it sells quick then reappearsdocttor999 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 7:32 am Well this one looks cheap for a facelift?

Wise.
Sometimes you have to take the emotion out of it and look at the equation objectively with some degree of financial sensibility. I currently have a monkey on my back, saying "Flog the 35is and get the 911 Steve, go on, you only live once, go and get one....".
The monkey has to be tamed sometimes and cost of change, to me in my circumstances, cannot be justified. And I can live happily with that.

There are plenty of folk who can only dream of owning a car that some of us were thinking of changing just because of a whim or fancy!step_change wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 8:47 amWise.

My monkey keeps whispering " Maserati" or "Tesla" at the moment. I have to get drunk all the time to drown out the voices

If I had a driveway I’d have a Model 3 P by now. Absolute no brainer, incredible machine.
