Advice on price to sell please

Post by vipros » Fri Sep 13, 2019 5:46 pm

Hi

I am considering selling my 2007 Z4 roadster. It's a 2.5 Sport in carbon black. Around 21.5k miles. M sport seats and steering wheel, 108 alloys. FSH and very good condition inside and out.

I don't really know where to pitch the price though and would be very grateful for some informed steer!

I'm in Exeter if it helps.

Thanks in advance.

Well, the very Low mileage is a plus, but would probably add more value to an Si, 2.5 or 3.0, as they are more sought after.

You say FSH, is it main dealer and is it genuinely every 2 years despite the low mileage?

How many owners? How long have you owned? What’s the full spec list?

Is it HPI clear?

Has the water pump been replaced? Probably not an issue at such low mileage, but people will ask.

Carbon Black is a great colour (in my personal opinion) MSport seats are definitely sought after ...are they heated?

108’s are a bit Marmite, some love them some hate them.... but what condition are they in? as refurbing properly is expensive

All these sort of things can impact value, so you need to be more specific if you want constructive input of any value

Hi Vipros,

The 2.5i Sport is a great car, but I would say that (I've got one). Its equipped with lots of desirable kit a standard. The exhaust note is amazing and its fast enough for most folks. :driving:
The market's not good at the moment so keep it if you can, you'll never find another one with such low mileage. Anyway, a similar one to yours sold on Ebay fairly recently for a good price IMHO. Link below:

Thanks for the responses. It would be nice to keep but unfortunately I'm having to drive more for work, can't use the Z4 and don't want to put loads of miles on my van.

The service history is a mix of dealer and a local BMW specialist. Servicing has been regular. Not had to do anything to it myself other than regular maintenance stuff, some new tyres and replacing a broken cup holder!

Seats are heated and alloys are in good condition. Water pump not replaced as mileage is low.

Two owners. I've had it three years and put on 7k miles. HPI is clear

All good points, what colour is the leather?

Get some photo’s up here, that’s definitely going to help your cause!

EBay Classified advert (Rather than an Auction) would be my suggestion in terms of where to advsertise... oh, and here of course

Leather is black. I'll definitely get some photos up. Needs a clean though! Spiders in my front garden took quite a liking to the wing mirrors.

Thanks for the tips!

Get a auto trader valuation and webuyanycar for low ball indication. Put it up for up to £1k more than the highest of the two....just a suggestion to help you price. The mileage and inferred condition might affect these indicative prices, not sure to what extent other than to check other similar low mileage cars prices if available.

Hi there,

That sounds like exactly the spec car I'm looking for!

PM me with some details if you like.

Cheers,

Thanks, I had done part of that at least. webuyanycar etc. seemed to really low ball it. Autotrader is more, but based on fair condition which mine is better than. Finding comparable ones for sale is tricky because mileage is so low and spec is pretty decent. Latest Autotrader search reveals an older model with twice the miles and lower spec for £7.5k, so prices are all over the place!

Appreciate all the responses so far! Thanks

At the end of the day, it’s worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

There are literally thousands of two seater cars (Z4’s included) that have sat around for months on end unsold. They are luxury purchases for most people, and just because someone on autotrader thinks they’ll get £7.5k, give or take, for a low mileage, low spec, 2.5i E85 doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

You must have an idea of what you hope to get for it, start by taking some decent photo’s and do a proper for sale add here with all the spec and detailing the full service history... there’s your starting point
