Slip Angle Spotlight - The best BMW you’ve never heard of

You’re all mad. List of Astons I would take over a Z4MC:

Any classic DB
Vanquish S
Vanquish Zagato
Vantage AMR
Vantage GT8
V12 Vantage S
DB11 AMR
Rapide AMR
DBS Superleggera

They’re fantastic. :P

Even though I wouldn’t have a gen1 grandpa edition auto, the Vantage has waaaay more motorsports heritage than the E86. Just look at Bathurst this year - a magnificent performance by the ancient V12 (albeit BOP-assisted) against 991s, R8s, AMG GTs etc.
2008 Z4MC: heavy wheels | crap suspension | skittish rear end | wobbly engine | not enough induction noise | underwhelming turn in | inconsistent braking | lardy battery | chubby steering wheel
2006 Z4 2.5si: gone

You are on a Z4 forum ed..! Not the toughest audience :D I'd also tend to agree with you :D , although I really love the idea of taking one and making some kind of track rat out of it. I bet there's a whole lot of easy weight loss, plus I think deep down there's a great chassis there (don't forget it's a transaxle, front-mid mounted dry sumped motor, with all round double wishbone (I think) so ultimately way more competent than ours should be). Much like the Z4m I imagine a few mods to the geo and to remove weight would reveal an entirely different car to that you read about in the press. hmmm... they do sound great too, and a supercharged one goes very well indeed.
N24 Tom!

It's what I'd go for :driving:

Well to put my post into context, if any of those Astons cost MC money I might well prefer an Aston.

But in terms of what you get for what you pay I'd still put an MC ahead!
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Really enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing. Although I don't own and ///M a lot of what he said I can relate to. The GT part, the poor mans Aston...I've even said when I got my Zed the reason I bought it was because it reminded me of a James Bond car (hence the silver grey)!
