We just ordered a 2020 Z4 M40i, and I'm wondering how long it might be until we see it. I saw that they're built in Austria.

It's really new, so past experience may not help, but I'd like to know how long you had to wait. Thanks, Dave

I ordered mine in the first week of April and collected in first week of June as I recall...so about 8 weeks.

Welcome Dave!

Ordered mine April 1st, collected it May 29th, so about 8 weeks also.

I don't know how long the ship takes to cross the Atlantic though!

Can't your dealer give you a reliable estimate?

Thanks, Buzyg, Millview22 & Dr_john. 8 weeks is about what the dealer suggested. It's late summer here in Central NY, and we'd sure like to get it while we can still enjoy the top down. As soon as I get the VIN (soon?), we can track the build on-line, but I have no idea what that really means. It's hard to be patient, anticipating such a great machine!

You've got 12 good months a year to enjoy the car. Drive it the British way - top down in any season as long as it's not raining! :)

As greg81 says, you can drive the car top down for most of the year in the UK and NY should be much the same. The heated seats and steering wheel will make it quite comfortable in cold weather. The only time that you really can't use the car top down is when it's raining or very windy. :driving:

Hi Dave,

We ordered it on the 19th May and was was available for deliverey August 24th, but we deferred this 1st September for the new registration. We could have had one pretty much straight away but there were no M40's in red with tan leather in stock.

Wow, May 19 to Aug. 24 is a long time, about 13 weeks. We ordered ours Aug. 21, and got notice that it's "112" yesterday, meaning that it's getting ready to go into production. I also got the production number from my SA, and went to My BMW, which shows "scheduled for production." It's hard to be patient.

How long between "In Transit" and you actually got it? Are you West Coast? I'm in Central NY State. Thanks,

Wow, you're so close, and it still took a long time? Amazing. BTW, my status has been "Scheduled for Production" for over a week. This status thing is of very little value.
