- Dubious electronic power steering which has pretty poor feel (esp when I compare to my wife's E91 330).
- Bone shaking ride on run flats (you really need to keep an eye out for potholes and drains) and a tendency to tram line.

Is it me or do these cars seem to be really susceptible to ding dents.

Wish my bloody wife did
If you ever think I'm off my rocker.. Just put me back in it and walk away... It's the kindest thing
My wife says I never listen - or something like that.

I'm totally with you on the steering - my E90 330i with Hydraulic PAS is just so much better!
Maybe after 5 years I've got used to the run-flats and dodging pot-holes and drains - possibly also because my E90 is still on run-flats.
But my Z4 still feels special every time I drive it - and I'm still looking back at it every time I park it.
Coupes because stunning!

Yes it's true, for no reason at all and while driving slowly in traffic someone said " w****r". Isn't jealousy awful ?dhobbs wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2019 10:26 am Depends on how you classify negatives.
Reliability is good but the e85/e86 is 10-16 years old so expect the normal wear and tear.
MPG you forget about because the car is worth driving. Saying that, for the performance it’s actually really good.
Jealousy. Occasionally you get idiots who are jealous and then call you names. They are the type who don’t know about cars!
The boot on the e85 is reasonable. I’ve had my folding bike in it on many occasions.
Comfort. It’s not a GT car and can get tiring over long distances.
I’ve had mine for 6 years now and still love it. Buy one, experience it and make your own mind.
As with any car that you cherish, fear of it getting damaged in car parks, on the road etc.

Then it would just be an observation.

That I also accept, but as I was merely driving by, there was little time for him to make an accurate and unbias assessment.enuff_zed wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 1:51 pmUnless of course, you were?road warrior wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 1:48 pmYes it's true, for no reason at all and while driving slowly in traffic someone said " w****r". 2 seaters can become mundane if they are your sole vehicle.
Z4s are best enjoyed as second cars imo.
If you want a car that is enjoyable but also practical then I suggest looking at the likes of an E46 M3.
