A little too hot on public roads for me, but it’s rare that this guy does vids on his Z4M so managed to enjoy it anyway!
2008 Z4MC: heavy wheels | crap suspension | skittish rear end | wobbly engine | not enough induction noise | underwhelming turn in | inconsistent braking | lardy battery | chubby steering wheel

Brilliant - although we've obviously all heard of it!
But I did laugh when he said BMW only brought 1,812 "over here", given that they were all built in Spartenberg.

I follow this dude cos he seems like a thorough genuine guy with some self-distance, been waiting for this one as he's hinted he's gonna do something on it.

Personally - and I'm sure this is an extremely unpopular opinion - I'd take the MC over an Aston all day long. Heavy, not that quick, prone to extremely expensive breakdowns, no clear 'mid life facelift' with problems addressed, rather a continuous trickle effect of parts updated as production went on - so early ones are far more risky to buy than the later ones. Nah doesn't do it for me - those cars are aimed squarely at middle aged blokes wanting to pretend they're James bond for the weekend - I'll take the rarer, prettier, lighter, more focused and less pretentious M without a second thought!

Agreed. My co-worker sold it soon after that picture was taken due to...you've guessed it...gearbox problemsEd Doe wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2019 8:51 amPersonally - and I'm sure this is an extremely unpopular opinion - I'd take the MC over an Aston all day long. Even without the poor mechanical quality i see zero allure in any Aston , Ed's appraisal of them is about the best ive every readXMetal wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2019 6:37 pmAgreed. I'd have to agree with Ed as well - it doesn't help that I can't tell one Aston from another!
I just hope "jimmybell" doesn't read this as he bought one to replace his Red MC.

You are on a Z4 forum ed..! Not the toughest audience I'd also tend to agree with you , although I really love the idea of taking one and making some kind of track rat out of it. I bet there's a whole lot of easy weight loss, plus I think deep down there's a great chassis there (don't forget it's a transaxle, front-mid mounted dry sumped motor, with all round double wishbone (I think) so ultimately way more competent than ours should be). Much like the Z4m I imagine a few mods to the geo and to remove weight would reveal an entirely different car to that you read about in the press. hmmm... they do sound great too, and a supercharged one goes very well indeed.
