Can I fit a wheelchair in the boot?
Don't know if changing chairs an option for you, but my daughter's chair is a Kuschall Champion, the back and handles both fold down which makes it really compact. I've never tried it in my car with the roof down, but I can give it a go and take some pics if you want?

Nice to hear that the forum can help eachother out...
All us Devon owners (or nearby such as Smartbear) should get together at some point.. is anyone up for a meet somewhere central?

Cool, there's pheonixboy, ihadablackdawg, mcbutler, and various others that I know of... including some from cornwall if we can get interest from that far away. I'll message them..
I'm away a lot of September but I can currently do any date in October for a sunday morning meet?
Probably best to start a new thread if we get some responses to this.
I'm a Rob too!

I have significantly shortened the handles using bits off an old chair I had for spares. I just need to tidy them up and make them look pretty, maybe put the nicer grips on them and then once they are done, try again and see if I can get the chair in.
I have cut them as low as I can bearing in mind that there are straps across the back that cannot be removed and I don't want to mess about with it too much otherwise it won't look factory.
I'll run some solder down them and hopefully that will be strong enough to hold it without the need for the bolt. The silver mark on the shorter handle is how far into the black tube, the silver tube goes, about 6cm.

I have only just bought this chair after a lot of looking about for something that looked good but wasn't too pricey, it was still £1K! Thanks for the offer of trying the chair in your car, but I think I have done what I intended with the chair I have.pbr67_zed wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 9:30 am Don't know if changing chairs an option for you, but my daughter's chair is a Kuschall Champion, the back and handles both fold down which makes it really compact. Good to see there are a few out there, maybe a new thread might be an idea!

Sean, that looks promising. How much has been taken off, measuring from the top of the mudguard (if thats what its called) to the top of the handle?
Before you do anything too permanent, would you like to try again?
Do you drive the MX-5 with the chair in? Could you get to Barnstaple? If not, then I'm sure I could come back down to you.

Hiya,
I think it is about 10cm, quite a bit. Yes I'd like to try it again. I don't usually head out that way much, but might be planning a trip to Woolacombe over the BH weekend so I will let you know if I do and pop over to meet up. I have got your phone number now, so I'll message you if we do make plans to.
Many thanks agaiin
Sean
