Just seen this one on Autotrader: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 9qs&page=1

BUt when I chatted with them, apparently it's sold. Despite me not telling them which BMW I was talking about on their website. Seemed a little too cheap for a first edition car at £41k

We are a few months in to G29's being delivered to the UK and there is plenty of ex-demos starting to appear on Autotrader - 144 used cars in total as of 5-Aug-19. 88 of them are the 20i's which i assume will do the best on pcp deals. Some examples below.

M40i - Plenty at just Sub £40k. I am sure those over could be haggled:
Stephen James BMW Woolwich 3.8k miles £38,995 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 6189140506
Williams Bmw Stockport 4.2k miles £39,480 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 7310659101
Cooper Cobham BMW 3.4k miles £39,830 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 5087748877

30i - Looks like they are around the £36K mark
Marshall BMW Scunthorpe 2.5k miles £35,950 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 6138987078
Stratstone BMW Derby 100 miles £35,990 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 6289510274
Cooper Cobham BMW 1.6k miles £36,030 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 5087748897

20i - Just over £30k is the lowest
Stratstone Bmw Hull 100 miles £30,400 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 7029646782
Stratstone Bmw Harrogate 100 miles £30,400 milhttps://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201906299527318
Stratstone Bmw Derby 100 miles £30,650 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 6289510287

Once the M40i's get to £32K'ish I think I will be very tempted (would love a 6 cylinder)! Does not look like it will take long.

I do think the values will be even worse than the E89, competition is too stiff and IMO hasn't really moved the marque on.
Pure Traction 35iS - Sold!
Carbon Black E86 3.0si Coupe - Gone but not forgotten

Yep. along with the TT, and SLC (SLK).

It makes sense to trim the range otherwise. Their lineup is ridiculous at the moment ... 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8 series , then the GT variants, gran coupes, X versions of almost every model. It's insane :tumbleweed:

The Z4 is an odd one. From the moment I saw it in the flesh in the showroom, it looked and felt to me like a 2 seater, 4 series convertible. Have a think about that, I promise it makes sense :?
-Z4 M Coupe, Silver Grey, Imola Red Nappa, carbon leather, CSLs, SuperSprint Race, Track Mode Enabled
-Tesla M3 LR

Previous - 3.0 si sport roadster, Silver Grey with Oregon Pearl Grey leather, Piano black, EIbach Pro, Stubby

The thing is BMW make niche products for niche owners but they don't appeal to niche owners because they are all average to drive.

I completely agree and was my argument with the E89 too. Why would you buy a 2 seater sports car where you compromise on practicality when it drives about the same as a 3 series... The Z4M is a good example its a niche car but its a great car to drive... the new gen cars all drive the same there is no real difference in experience.

I suppose you buy it for looks... I have to be honest im not a hater of the new design but its not exactly a masterpiece either. I suppose putting my money where my mouth is, again I dont think £54k for what you get is expensive compared to the 718, but I still wouldn't buy it.

The M2 is the only car in the line that remotely appeals because it feels like a modern E46 otherwise I feel the range just blends into the rest of the cars on the road. Product of their own success.

Without an M variant there is no heritage or aspiration either.

The fact the legendary M3 coupe is now called the M4 and the M3 is now a saloon is a perfect example of disastrous marketing.

Its the same across the range. SUVs X1/2/3/4/5/6/7 are they all really necessary!? They need to cull the range and go back to basics making a more limited but excellent range. I feel like BMW are similar to Apple... going through a period where it could easily see the end of the golden era.

Although its a bit more complicated as we are heading into the electric age and BMWs additions have been a big swing and miss.
