Extra boot lights

Post by flybobbie » Mon Apr 15, 2019 12:31 pm

Quick project to add some extra light in the boot.
First replaced the standard light with led module.
Then removed the two access to tail light bulb covers and fitted some led modules.
Then take wires around to existing tail light wires coloured red and brown/white.
Seems like the modules are not polarity sensitive.
Gives a nice spread of light without being seen from the rear at night.

Looks good.

With your wiring does this mean they come on when the rear lights are on on only when you open the boot?

Do you have a link to where you got the lights from (and part number etc)?

I must have got a cheaper version or just a duff supplier cos the ones are got are defiantly polarity sensitive :(

Strange i mistakenly ordered two and ended up with four. One spare replaced the existing lamp and the other spare i bodged and wired into the glove box light. When i applied power to the wires either way round, it lit up. Quite a bit of electronics on the circuit board, i was surprised.
