Sitting here at Wheels in Motion, Chesham, after taking the car to a couple of more mainstream garages who wouldn't touch it, alignment-wise. Got to say that they're living up to their reputation, so far! Lots of time for discussion re. settings and loads of car-specific knowledge.

Nice pic Paul!
Heard good things about them, the local Ferrari owners club use them for alignment. Are you having custom geo, csl spec (or as close as these cars can get to it)?

Hey Dan - good to see you're still lurking. :)

Yes, they have always had a great reputation so I'd been keen to use them in the past - I just wanted to check out a couple of cheaper, Hunter-equipped placed first to see what they could do. Glad I did - won't go back. :P

I wanted to use the CSL base settings and then get their view re. rear toe in. We ended up going with 0˚14', which is halfway between the recommendation for this car and the CSL. On top of that, -1.3-ish front camber was the positive end of what's achievable with these KWs and pulled camber pins (!), so I was happy to agree to that tweak on the CSL spec too. I have just moved to wider front tyres so want to keep the tramlining to a minimum, but it's good to know that there's loads of -ve headroom there to play with, if needed.

I know! Still a lovely car though... it was really at home in the Elan valley and kept up with the convoy just fine.

Kept up. :? I would have expected a fwd 200 bhp car to kick the arse of the rwd brigade on roads like that. Even if is is a bit portly.

Same. But it was bone dry, it was a manual and the rwd brigade were two autos plus me.

You already know this, of course, but it’s amazing how good a B road weapon the Z4 can be with some tweaks. You just need to go through the apex of each corner at 3000rpm in second with your left foot over the brake. :driving: :?
