Help, new here and after thoughts on a 100k e89
I had a 2010 23i last summer and ran it from 115k to 120k. It was faultless. Engine was so smooth it was a pleasure to start up and listen to. If its been serviced properly I'd have no issues at all buying that.

I like 25mpg. It's a good, strong, underrated number LOL...
Looks like a good car, and detail level in advert was quite extravagant. Looking at the pics of the car even the inside of the wheels was clean!
Let us know how you get on..

I wouldn't worry about 100K on any N52 engine.
My Z4C has done 88K and my E91 325i with the 2.5 litre version like the 23i has done 137K - both still running strong!
Let us know how you get on OP.

What a ball ache advert...turbo waffle at it's finest....
Anyhoo that car looks a peach, very very well specced and as others have said 100k is nothing for this engine, keep putting good oil in and no reason it couldn’t last well over 500,000 miles.
Get it away from that drivel....it deserves better...!!

Just had a chat with the guy and I'm going to view the car tomorrow
All sounds well on the phone, the only thing for me is that the car although fully serviced, the book is not fully stamped.
Now I'm clueless here as just been driving run of the mill stuff this last few years but I'm led to believe that I should be able to check this electronically, main dealer maybe? Is this correct. the 95k service was by an indie, all others are by BMW either at Redhill or Worthing so everything should check out.
Just waiting on a call back from my local main dealer to see if I can check this out and maybe a price on a once over, fluid change etc should I purchase the car.
Any thoughts.
Also the car is priced at £8650.00
Now this seems fair to me should every single thing check out correctly, which I think it will. The car needs taxing, a full tank of juice and some proper car mats I think so do you think an offer at £8300 is fair.

I would possibly be tempted to ask them to do a service and throw in a tank of juice, then offer 8500chilistrucker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 1:52 pm Just had a chat with the guy and I'm going to view the car tomorrow

When I bought my 3 Series in February, the seller had a print-out of it's visits to BMW garages and the dates.chilistrucker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 1:52 pm Now I'm clueless here as just been driving run of the mill stuff this last few years but I'm led to believe that I should be able to check this electronically, main dealer maybe? It only ever went to Vines or Barons. I called both service departments and they were able to tell me what work they had done. Which was handy, as it turns out it had a full service in December 2017 at Barons in Hindhead that wasn't in the book! So I took the book in to them and they stamped it for me.
So if you know where it went and when you ought to be able to put it all together.
Good luck with the viewing.

Is 40mpg realistic? I've got a23i, not an M admittedly, and I very 26, which I'm happy with. Certainly a lovely looking car. Good luck. And welcome to the forum.

I think it’s over priced myself. Bought a 23i in great nick two years ago, not much in terms of spec but at 60k miles. Paid 9945.

I think you'd have to drive like Miss Daisy to get 40mpg - which kind of defeats the object of buying a Z4!
My E86 is used out of rush hours and 95% of the time on motorways and NSL dual-carriageways and the OBC is showing 33.6 mpg after 10K miles, which I think is pretty impressive. My 325i with the same engine as a 23i does about the same, but that has to endure the Tesco trips, etc.
30+ mpg from any straight 6 petrol is good enough for me!

26 seems quite low. Do you thrash it a lot?SpiketheBike wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 11:00 pm Is 40mpg realistic? I've got a23i, not an M admittedly, and I very 26, which I'm happy with. Certainly a lovely looking car.

enter the reg number and the mileage, oil change (£129) and brake fluid change (£70).

Sounds fair to me. Whenever I see a price like £8650 I assume the seller wants £8500. So start at 8 and go up very slowly and you never know your luck! Hope it goes wellchilistrucker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 1:52 pm Also the car is priced at £8650.00

Assuming yours is also a 2011, I'd say you got a bargain, not that this one is over pricedAndyturbo2000 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 11:07 pm I think it’s over priced myself. Bought a 23i in great nick two years ago, not much in terms of spec but at 60k miles. Paid 9945.
