Best Intentions
So despite having owned the car since September having bought it with the intention to only run it at the weekend I have already put 4,000 miles on it - I just can’t stop myself driving it and that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon as a result of the mild winter we are enjoying.
Anyway aside from the sheer enjoyment I get from driving it a number of other things have surprised me - practicality both in terms of interior design but also boot space and also the quality of the materials.
What’s really surprised me is how well the leather interior has aged - having just gone over 98,000 miles I’m surprised how well the drivers seat still looks compared with other cars I have owned. So my question is this is my experience common and do I owe thanks to BMW for their diligent source material and fabrication process or should I thank the previous owner for taking care of it so well?
Either way I’m glad I took the plunge back in September and would like to thank the forum in general for steering me towards a decision that has delivered on all my pre-purchase expectations.

It is surprisingly nice. I sat in a car with that colour a couple of months ago.. I've got standard red Msports but this shade is a calmer one..

The nappa is really nice. I was surprised at how much of a step up it was from the standard leather (which is still a higher grade than used in most current Beemers). I’m sure its suppleness makes it wear well.

I think you probably need to thank the previous owner(s)!
I got my 1st Coupe with 54K miles and there was quite a bit of wear on the driver's seat bolster, but my current Coupe is mow on 88K miles and the bolster is in far better condition.
I think the wear is caused by dragging your body across the bolster getting in or out - I make a conscious effort to not do that.
And OP, your Ammarone seats look fantastic.

Agree, the quality of leather is better than most manufacturers but still needs to be treated. Lovely colour, and nicer seats than my E85

Must admit the Amarone interior was one of the reasons I jumped straight in when it was up for sale - wasn’t as sure on the Ruby Black exterior but have to say it’s grown on me since purchase and is perfectly matched to the interior
Not sure how many others there are with the same colour combination but not seen one yet.

Not many! According to the database put together by "tonyz4c" there were 3 Ruby Black MCs in the UK with Ammarone leather - 2 had piano black trim and the other one had the leather dash!

Thank the previous owner. Look at Lederzentrum products from Colourlock to keep the seats in that condition.

Ruby black with Ammarone seats in an MC! That's a spec to die for. Those seats are in lovely condition. You've got to thank the previous owner(s) for that. I've seen a lot worse by 98k miles.
