I think there are only 4 forum members who do this and they are all in England.

But if you are handy with spanners and/or feeling brave maybe this might help:- https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1215892

Roof motor relocate.

I think it was about £900 total; the new motor (ordered from BMW themselves) and the labour to move it

It was expensive but I felt I couldn't have a convertible that was not able to put a roof down :)

£900 was expensive! I think I paid £350 for a refurbished motor to be fitted in the boot.

Ouch! Presumably they fitted a new motor because yours had died.

Luckily the OP is only asking about getting it relocated, so hopefully he won't need a new motor!

I wouldn't ever call myself handy with a spanner but I was able to access mine via following a guide on here and snip the cable ties holding the casing in place and pull it through to the boot myself. It now sits in the boot safe and sound hidden behind a bit of matching carpet, luckily for me it was in immaculate condition so didn't need to be brought back to life or disconnected from the hydraulic pipes. May be worth looking to see if you can do it yourself too and save a few hundred quid that can be spent on some other nice upgrades?

Yes thankfully at the minute it’s just a relocate and hopefully when I get the motor out it will still be a relocate.
The motor is working great at the minute.
I’ll have a look and see if I could manage it.
Is there a more standard roof relocate guide on here?

To be honest, it's fairly simple to do yourself, I did mine. There are plenty of write ups on the forum, as well as online.
It took me a few hours one weekend, with a basic level of tools. And the satisfaction I don't have to worry about haveing the flooded motor issue.

Hi Keith96
Did you move your roof motor into the boot? I live in Bangor and would like to move mine before it maybe gives trouble. Photo of mine attached.
