I'm guessing this fits the e85 too but just wanted to check with those in the know before sticking in the order.

TIA

I can't see why it wouldn't - my E46 had a ZHP and my E91 has the same gear-knob that my E86 used to have, so the fitting must be the same.

I bought one of these last week from another forum member. I've just checked the part number on the box and it's the same as the one on the eBay link so should fit your e85. I was quite surprised at the difference it's made to gear changes.

Doh - I just checked the invoice for the one I bought for my E86 and it's the same BMW Part Number, so it will definitely fit.

Makes a big difference too!

despite reading almost everyones' positive feedback in here, I can't persuade myself that I need this..

Does it make THAT much of a difference in spirited driving????

Well I find it much better to use than the standard one - and anyway it looks better too!

Honestly doom I was a bit sceptical but it has made a significant difference for a relatively small cost and a very easy install, no tools or mechanical knowledge required, just a bit of brute force and away you go. :driving:

My existing one has seen better days so I just thought I'd put a couple of extra quid into getting the zhp. Won't know how it feels till I tax it in the spring.

thx for the input!
I get the ''old broken, new but better part in'' concept, nothing wrong with that, of course. And I am not being judgemental, how could I having not tried it..
just trying to find the thin line of overdoing it as a petrolhead..

I fitted one and agree they are much better. The OEM knob just doesn't feel at positive. I would sometimes find the old shifter felt half in gear, where the ZHP finds the gear. I don't know whether is it the height, weight or feel in the hand, but it makes changing gear a pleasure, rather than just ok.

For the money, I would advise the mod to anyone. It really improves the feel at the helm.

No, there is an illuminated version - I think it was standard on the E39 M5 possibly. But then you obviously have to wire the illumination up!
