Jim White's (White Details) Z4M Coupe

Post by Joneeboy » Fri Nov 09, 2018 12:21 am

Had a chat with Jim White a couple of days ago and unbelievably, his Z4M Coupe is still for sale! he said he hasn't had one prospective buyer or tyre kicker come and have a look.. I don't know what he's asking for it, but it must be one of the spangliest examples out there, as he's given it the full White Details treatment..just thought id mention it..

How I wish I could afford an M Coupe, and if I could I wouldn't let a trip to Lincolnshire put me off to view this one!

Its the market not the car, even the 3.0 coupes are not selling or even have interest.

I bought my M last week because i had the money spare in a bank getting no interest but now i cant see my 3.0 so ive joined the seller waiting list!

I like it, and obviously I have no aversion to light interiors :P

The scaremongering over 'rod bearings need replacing every 50,000 miles' on some other forums will not help :headbang:

Maybe the 'light' info on the advert is putting people off? But surely anyone who is even half interested would call to ask for more info.

I'd suggest listing what 'services' were carried out at those mileages...as you can't tell whether they're all time-based oil services, brake fluid changes, inspection 1s or inspections 2...so can't tell if everything really had been done to both time & mileage schedule.

Has any major work been carried out...besides general servicing...as that mileage would suggest diff, suspension, calipers may be past their best (I had a diff and both calipers replaced under warranty at about 80,000 miles, and replaced suspension at 100,000). Should be miles off needing a clutch and/or flywheel though (mine was 140,000 miles).

Other than that, all I can see are minor things...discs look worn, mixed tyres front to rear, 'cheap-looking' pedal covers, carbon-wrapped door handles. Nothing which would put me off buying it...never mind phoning to ask for more info :(

Lovely looking car, although I wouldn’t want a car with light coloured leather.

Agreed, you can't help but notice the trouble some sellers are having. Are the asking prices just too high? Or are the buyers just not out there? Waiting to see if values will drop or perhaps the outcome of Brexit? Chuck in the tightening of purse strings over Christmas period and I can see a lot of these cars hanging round for a while longer. I don't think this is limited to Z4s either. :(

That price for that beautiful car? Would bring more over here stateside for sure. Absolute stunner, and we never got that interior color over here. Somebody jump on this thing ASAP!

EDIT: Light Sepang interior. Yes we did get that one over here.

Non-nav + carbon leather trim. THAT is the spec you want boys!
