At what temp do you put the roof up?
It’s 32 ° here on the Autobahn near Heidelberg and im about to put the roof up and air con on !

The sun is making the drive uncomfortable.

Should have got a coupe :poke:

Although, to be fair, I’ve seen plenty of convertibles over the last couple of weeks...the majority with their roofs up

I find that as long as ur moving, thus enabling airflow around the cabin and ur wearing sensibly light clothing and a cap then heat, even in 32deg shouldnt be an issue.

I was standing in a traffic jam in holland recently in 37 and decided it was roof up and engine off time! But then, on the move and the top came down again, albeit with aircon on directed towards lower vents. Extravagent, yes, but comfortable.

I have never put my roof up because it's too hot/sunny. It was over 32 degrees when I came back from the Le Mans Classic, and the roof was down all of the way. Long drives do require a cap and sunscreen.

I'm not a hardcore roof downer... if I'm driving on the motorway, or the weather is above 25 degrees or so, i'll probably have the roof up and the aircon on.

I have it down pretty much all the time, even below zero. In the 30+ degrees it has been down and as others have said, if moving, it's fine, as long as there is a cap, suncream, sunglasses and aircon on the feet. In saying that though, im doing 500 all motorway miles this weekend and it's not going down for that. I can cope with a short bit of it but not the whole trip

I tried driving here with the roof down at 40+C and within a few minutes I gave up, even with the aircon at full blast.
In the UK, most temperatures are fine as long as you’re moving. In heavy traffic, even 30C is pretty unbearable in the sun.

I bought a z4 all those years ago with the basis of if the roof isn’t coming off then the car is not coming out - although moving at Autobahn speeds the sun was directly overhead and I was starting to fry!

I noticed I wasn’t alone in my decision either.

Will keep it down in hot weather but I am not the sort that's brave enough to drop the top any time of year if the sun comes out like to feel my hands when driving :D but as above if I am parked up in hot weather and sitting in the car then I do sometimes pop the top up and aircon on

I always, every chance I get drop the top down, but I have to be honest, recently with the hot temperature's we have had, a few times driving back from work I Have left it down and put the air con on, just to revel in being cool for the first time all day

When about got to our destination, we dropped the lid and it was like getting into an oven!
