Problem is i will need Disc's and pads which takes it closer to £1300
I can get an AP 6 Pot kit with bigger 2 piece disc's for only £400 more which are a better kit again.

Reyland? That is a great price, especially since it includes DS2500s (although not floating discs, I notice).
But you sound like me... "only £400 more". The next man maths step after that is "since I've upgraded the fronts I can get the caliper-only AP rear kit for under a grand. Then I'd effectively be EARNING MONEY".

Soon enough mate, currently hanging out in Rome for a day or 2. I have a little vibration in the front under heavy braking atm, but anticipate this will disappear after the new pads are bedded in. My brakes are not very showy, and they are black, so only a keen eye (like all you guys have) will see that its not stock. Hah, cheers. Close, but no cigar though - PBMW front caliper with 996 rears will send the brake bias forwards on the Z4M/CSL. Not by a huge amount (plus the stock setup is quite aggressive), so this configuration will probably leave you in an ok place, balance-wise.
What has really surprised me, having trawled through all this brake info, is just how substantial the stock brakes are. Additional cooling (like exdos has rigged up) and uprated pads are clearly a great way to go, albeit one that doesn't tick the box aesthetically or reduce unsprung mass.
When are we going to see pics of your new brakes, btw?
I have to admit it too though, i never had any issues with the OEM claws, they are actually top notch and dependant upon which pads you match them with can give stellar performance. Brake cooling could have been better designed though.

Aston part numbers for the calipers are 4G43-2C462-DA and 4G43-2C463-DA ("-DA" is the red variant).

Does anyone know if you can get 5-8mm hubcentric spacers nowadays? Obviously with longer bolts

I think I have 5mm hub centric spacers. I’m 12000 miles from my car at the moment but I’ll try to find out if they are and post back.

Bad news - you were correct, 5mm spacers are not hubcentric
Good news - the spiggot on the hub extends through a 5mm spacer preserving the hub-centricity (which I’d mis-remembered as a flange on the spacer)

Ok that’s good to know .... so it’s really either a 5mm or hubcentric 10mm that I could use . Good to know . I suspect I’ll have to change tyre sizes as well . At the moment I’m on 275/30 245/35 .
