Magnetic mobile phone holder

So as its fathers day this Sunday my kids have got me a magnetic mobile phone holder.

I don't use my phone when driving obviously but would use the MAP system on my iPhone to get my son to football matches stuck behind a barn in the middle of feckin Norfolk.

So does anyone have one and where have they placed it with pics please.

Mine is attached to my ashtray lid and angled towards me on a ball joint type magnet, I don't like them blocking the vents or stereo.

I've seen that type mounted to access panel where you sometimes find the aux,

Neither do I. Don't think it looks nice. Also back when I had an old 3GS (on a cold day) I nearly killed the phone by it overheating... vents obviously blow hot air out and iPhone was in the way!

I have the exact same one Jock. I tried various positions on the dash to stick it using the pads provided. But after a while it always fell off due to the slight curve of the dash. In the end I used superglue and fixed it to my drivers side cupholder blanking plate. Then if I decide to remove it, it's an inexpensive little panel to replace.
