NOW SOLD. Got my new car, so drastic price reduction for my 2003 2.5i auto £3375
As much as I have tried to figure out a way of carrying my kayak and 16 foot canoe on my fabulous Z4, it just isn’t going to happen and I cannot keep relying on everyone else to ferry me to and from kayaking. I need to sell my Z4.
Model 2003 2.5i Auto SE
Mileage 83,500 miles
MOT November 2018
5 previous owners (each owner kept it for about 3 years!)
Factory options
Heated leather seats
cruise control
Business spec multiplay CD sound system
Metallic paint
Mods
MP3 lead
Door sound deadening
White rear centre brake lamp
Thicker stich on steering wheel cover
The in-car entertainment is the higher spec Business system with door speakers, dash tweeters, rear bass speakers, and probably a few more around as well. Sounds amazing! It does have the multiplay CD cassette in the centre console as well, but it doesn’t seem to work. Never bothered me as I have put an MP3 connection on it and always use that. The single disc CD in the dash works fine.
The previous owner was also fussy, like me, it seems. He replaced a front brake calliper, the brake discs, the front wishbone suspension arms, and a few coil springs. I have replaced the ‘lollipops’, which is a part of the front suspension set up that wears. I have also replaced the rear centre brake light as they have a habit of cracking. They are usually red, white (with red LED’s) gives it a more modern look I think.
The tyres were almost new when I brought the car nearly 2 years ago, and I have only done about 8,000 miles since. As I am not a speedy driver (too old for that!), they still look like they have had hardly any wear.
It had a fresh MOT in November 2017 with no advisories. It has now covered just 83,500 miles. It is showing as about 6000 miles before the next service is due.
I have a large wad of paperwork to back up the maintenance history as well, with servicing & MOT paperwork and so forth going back to the first owner
Hood operation is good, gearbox is super-smooth, steering is spot-on, it starts instantly no matter how cold it gets. The car feels nice and solid to drive and everything works well.
It isn’t perfect obviously, it is 15 years old after all, but it is astonishing how good it is, and how well it drives. If you were really, really fussy you may want to refurbish a wheel or two but that is on the inside, the outside of the wheels look fine.
Heck, is a 15 year old £3300 car - buy this and go and enjoy summer!
Here is a link to my very amateurish video I made of it. I am no Dicky Attenborough and this is no Ben Hur, but it's got a Z4 in it so it's better.

Your advert isn't doing you any favours imo, I had to scan it 3 times to find the mileage for example.
I would list the cars details clearly on separate lines first - spec, age, mileage, options, then the sales pitch followed by the pics

You are right, Marlon. Too wordy and confusing. Thanks for pointing it out. Revised it, but still cannot figure out why some photos are sideways, and don't know how to correct it.
SmartB, you will not be impressed I am afraid, but the replacement is perfect for my needs and I must admit it is great!:
So I can now do this:

For what I do, inflatable kayaks are not in the least suitable I am afraid! And the roof adaptor on the MX5 means roof down all the time you carry a boat. I kayak mid winter and pray for rain to fill up the rivers!paddy wright wrote: ↑Fri May 04, 2018 8:07 pm THIS Is what you need

Can’t let a car ruin your sport fun though Paul. Time enough for silly cars when you’ve hung your paddle up.
