Ok, does that match existing gearknobs? Sounds a bit tight .025 clearance...?
Its hard to measure but i will to a tester hole in some scrap material to test the fit first.
Good idea. Same material as gearknob i hope? Can make all the difference.
304 free machining stainless steel.
This is a rather crude and infantile reply, however I have a saying that I try to abide by.....FF, forgive and forget, forgive your immature outburst and just forget about it, I always find this very useful when I get cut up by some driver making a mistake.thanatu55 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 31, 2018 8:50 pm My point is that research and development has been undertaken rather than placing a ball on a stick. That was the question posed to me and I quantified it with an answer. Marketing speak aside, the point stands.
All I said was that simply copying a shape doesn't make it the equal in all aspects of the other, then Billy Big B*****ks wanted more information and I obliged.
Are you done now? Great lets move on.Davz wrote: ↑Mon Apr 02, 2018 10:12 pm This is a rather crude and infantile reply, however I have a saying that I try to abide by.....FF, forgive and forget, forgive your immature outburst and just forget about it, I always find this very useful when I get cut up by some driver making a mistake.
However my reason for posting is that I have done some research about the stormwerks knob to find out what testing and developing has actually been done. What I find is that stormwerks is just a retail business run by a single person from a residential address with no manufacturing capability. Said person has been director of lots of small businesses including a restaurant, second hand car dealer and an "investment" company where lots of directors were appointed and resigned on the same day, don't know what that is about? Also director of another company which has the same address of evolve automotive, which is just a retailer of tuning parts.
This would suggest to me that the knobs are subcontracted to a general jobbing engineering company, or just bought off the shelf. Considering the price and the cost of the packaging this would most likely be in China or India. Makes me wonder just what testing and developing has actually been done? None I suspect.
