Hello all,

Well, after some time lurking around on this invaluable forum, I took the plunge. I managed to get my hands on a very low mileage E86. Only 38,700 miles on the clock. I'm the 3rd owner, and it's in very fine fettle!!

A little while ago I discovered that Phoenix Yellow was available on this car and really liked the colour on the car. I know it's a marmite colour, but I like it, and apparently there were only 20 or so brought into the UK.

Anyway, thanks for all the info this forum has thus far provided, and in anticipation, the information it will provide!

I have just bought a stubby aerial (BMW genuine on eBay) and intend to tidy the car up to showroom standard over the next year or so.

I also want it to have a full service and fluid change, as it's done such little mileage in the last few years.

Let the fun begin!

Thanks!! I've heard that they're good, but that's a bit too far for me to get to. I've read through here that TWG are good as well?

PY - very nice! And at such low milage, you'e got a real gem there. Enjoy her! Is it a daily or just a weekend toy? Some 19 inch CSL's would look sweet.

Well done, Ive had mine a couple of weeks and love it.........opposite end of the spectrum to yours at 120K miles but it's in great condition and at the price I paid has left some finances for mods and general upkeep :driving:

Thanks!! No, she'll be well looked after and more a weekend joy. I just want to bring her up to showroom standard and keep her that way. I'm mega fussy/an@l/OCD (you name it) so will be just cleaning every nook and cranny over summer. I'm also a member of a detailer's forum and have all the kit. I've had 2 BMW's in the past.
But for this one, she won't be driven in Winter anymore and is now tucked away in the garage.
...And as for the CSL's, yes, they may be part of the future allocation, but another part of me wants to keep her as she is. I looked at 18's actually, (http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroom/product_info.php/new-cades-bern-accent-frozen-grey-cross-spoke-wider-rear-alloys-p-5308?cPath=51_27_134_46_297), as I heard that 19's can be a little crashy?

I'm the same with the detailing (in fact, I'm thinking of doing it part time as a little second job).

I'm on the 19s and once you get rid of the runflats they're okay. I'm no wheel expert, but if you're only using it for weekend then the stance they 19s give have to be worth it IMHO.

I look forward to seeing some more pics in the summer!!!! PY with a three stage polish will look mint!

Yes, true, I've seen a few photos of PY's with 19's, esp. grey CSLs or the like and they look cool. With your car, what suspension package did you go for and what was the drop? It has a good stance.

Re the polishing, I bought a Scholl Concepts S20 black sample pack for my last BMW, a 4-series, but never got to use them. My last car was Imperial Blue, a dark colour, but of course the PY is light. I may have to change my kit!
