In my 1st car - 1947 Mk IV Jaguar - bought it for £50 in 1962, fairly cheap but the engine needed work. It would be worth a few bob now!

12 point turn on any narrowish roads!
Beautiful inside and out though and was great as a youngster to (legally) get her up to over a ton on the M1. :)

1977 in a white police driving school car can’t remember if it was a cortina or a viva after an intense 5 week course of driving and have to give a moving commentary every day and push the car and myself getting a pass was a major for me as I was a none driver 19 yr old .Instructor thought me and my mate were taking piss when we sat together with name tags of Austin and Morris :driving:

Passed in 1978 in my Grandads old 1969 Austin 1300 with a strip-speedo. It had a red strip that went from left to right instead of round dials.

I Googled strip speedo. Wish I hadn't.

Nissan Micra - it was rank. My instructor gave me a brand new one to take my test in which was an updated model than the one i'd done all of my learning in! I wasn't impressed!

1990 Peugeot 309 1.9d in Jan 1991. It felt much more gutsy than my own car...the mighty 1982 Skoda Super Estelle 120L!

My driving school car was so uninteresting in comparison, it's not even worth a picture - Mk3 Ford Fiesta (diesel), circa 1994.

1981 Toyota Corolla saloon...I remember it being pale metallic blue, with a blue interior - tasteful :D

The instructor was so confident I would pass (2nd time!) that he dropped heavy hints about how his grateful pupils often bought him a bottle of whisky - yeah right, like that was ever going to happen, especially as I was still reeling from him putting up the lesson cost from £4.50 to £5 :-o

May 1981 in a 1974 Ford Cortina 2000E. First time om my 17th birthday. I do believe passing your test was easier back then. Passed my motorcycle licence in 1982 and my class 2 in 1999.
