Run flats

My 62 plate 28i has Bridgestone run flats all round, the front pair are nearly shot, do I have to replace them with run flats or can I mix non run flats ?

I've been running non run flats on the front and run flats on the rear for about 6 months/7000 miles no problem. Rears are finally getting swapped out in a couple of weeks

No no no never mix runflats with normal tyres, occasionally some do but it affects the handling and if the worst should happen I'm sure your insurance would take a dim view.

Handling will be all over the place. Run flats are a very stiff tyre so mixing that with a softer compound non run flat the car will feel out of balance

A reputable tyre dealer would refuse to carry out the work unless you are changing all four to non-runflat.

I ran non runflats on the front and runflats on the rear on my last car for quite a while. It was fine. didn't affect handing.

Same here, I ran rf tyres on the front & normal tyres on the rear for 10k miles and my car felt great

Ran standard tyres on the front of my e90 with run flats on the back and although not ideal, It ran fine. Ditched the run flats as soon as they were 2.5 mm. I don't see that they could affect the car too much as essentially they just have a slightly stiffer sidewall. Unless of course you are ragging it around a track etc.

Remember my first car a 1963 ford anglia estate radials on the rear cross-ply on the front and all remoulds !!!

If you drove a modern car all times at the speed limits in the uk i would find it hard to believe that braking , cornering or safety would be hampered running mixed runflat / non runflat paired on different axles .
Yes of course it will always be better to run 4 of the same year , depth , make + model tyres but its far more sketchy running the wrong pressures .
Worn wiper blades through dark winter months is probably more dangerous
