If you work it out at £20 an hour, 7 days @8 hours that would work out at £1120. Not a rip off when you think of how much work goes into it.

I wouldn't suggest it's a rip off but imo that kind of money would be better spent elsewhere. Maybe someone will enlighten us as to the cost because we're speculating anyway.

Yep. Nilfisk pressure washer and Das pro plus is first. Get into the garage at my new house and use his advice in his videos to a job that I’m sure won’t be as good but I’ll give it a damn good go. Plus mine’s in good shape to start with

Definitely not a rip off. He does great work and the car looks sweet. Can’t wait to see the final instalment

A full detail from Jim costs rather more than a grand
In one of his previous videos he says " a full monty starts with a 2 or a 3 and is 4 figures" depending on what is needed.
I've just finished doing my own car, it has taken a long while, not as good as Jim would do but it's much better than it was, and it's very satisfying

If you have a decent Z4M and you can't do 90% of this yourself, then it's got to be a good investment by getting this done. How many posts on here go on and on about how the quality of the paint on the 'for sale' cars are awful.
A good detail will help you enjoy the car and I'd expect you'd see close to your £1500 investment back when you come to sell....!

Most of all i am going to enjoy trying, and getting some self satisfaction.

£2k to £3k for this detail . As others have said, I'd rather have a go myself and maybe get half the results for the cost of materials! I regard my car as being in brilliant condition and just can't see how this would add that much value as I'm sure most normal people would think my car is in lovely condition already. £2k - £3k on preventative maintenance or brakes or suspension or wheels would be a better bet imo.

I’d spend £1800 max but couldn’t justify anymore. Like u say. I’d rather drop some kw coilovers on mine instead. Not knocking his work in anyway or his pricing but Reep up near me are Gtechniq approved and last time I checked they will do a Porsche size car full correction and application for a lot less than £2-3kMuckinonthesofa wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 7:49 pm £2k to £3k for this detail . I don't see this as apples for apples....in my mind this level of detail is really for those who have already got their car into good shape mechanically, including mods. If you have a budget of £2k for your car this year, then I'd say that getting into A1 level cosmetically would actually give you more smiles than the improved suspension would.Muckinonthesofa wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 7:49 pm £2k to £3k for this detail . Also, if you're going to buy the 'stuff' you need to detail close to this level, then this will cost you at least £500-£700....

One of his buffers and pads will cost more than that. He’s probably got close to £10000 worth of gear in his garage not including the lift!

Also bear in mind most of the cars Jim works on are £60,000 plus cars
His own Z4M is the lowest value car I've seen in his vlogs

Good camera angles on his videos, can actually see what's going on. I thoroughly bored my other half watching it on the TV last night!
My previous Z4 looked similar to his in condition but I was able to achieve about 80-90% of his finish myself in a day and a half. It's not difficult, just time consuming.
I draw the line before a company like his does as it's very much a law of diminishing returns. Life's too short to polish door shuts in my spare time. I shelled out £450 for all my cleaning goodies but this included £100 on a Sidekick Blaster (glorified hair dryer) and snow foam gear as well as the polishing stuff. However, I've now done two cars with it and will do my C63 in the Spring and any future cars for very little further outlay.
