Oohh thats a big milestone, or even millstone possibly when it comes to selling, but i guess its a forever car as you have obviously enjoyed driving it loads. Mine unfortunately had become a garage queen the last 15months due to buggy project but unsorned now and I am eager to get driving as i can afford to put some miles on the clock as only did 900 between last two motโs. Have you noticed any issues as the miles increase? I sold my z3 m roadster at 70k as i was getting worried about it clocking up too many miles , then it went up in price by 4k in a couple of years

I dont think I will ever sell it. I drive the car almost every day and it still feels great to drive.
I do need to do some preventative maintainance this year and spend a few grand.
I was going to ask on here about where I should go as I don't have anyone in Scotland. I have always serviced at the dealer but don't fancy paying for vanos and bearings along with its yearly inspection at the dealer. Think it's time for a specialist as so far it's all been dealer apart from oil changes.
I realise I live in the middle of nowhere but would travel anywhere and incorporate the trip into a bit of a break.
Once i have a few suggestions I can ring around for a price and then take a view.
That's the plan, over to you.
Thanks in advance.

B for BMW in Clydebank has had some decent reviews, I was thinking of them for my next service.

Just had a look and as you say the reviews are good. I will give them a call and see what they say.
Thanks Bottom.
We will get out for a run soon. At least when we get rid of the snow / ice although since changing to my Winter tyres it has made a big difference.

I have been using them for the last few years for servicing and they seem very good to deal with.
Luckily I havnt had any major problems for them to deal with.
Seems like a very organised place and they also seem happy to talk to you while waiting, even the owner takes time to chat.
Downside is they are not open at the weekend at all but are opened late one night during the week.

Thanks Stuart. I know how you look after your vehicles so this is another plus for B for BMW.Nictrix wrote: โThu Dec 28, 2017 3:50 pmI have been using them for the last few years for servicing and they seem very good to deal with.

Thanks Alfa as you say, we'll get a run out soon enough. Mine is still on summer tyres but I've got the luxury of the 4x4 for winter duties.
Thanks for the update Stuart, I'll definitely give them a try when my service comes due in the new year.

B for BMW are fine but personally Iโd go to another specialist nearby, B&M in Yoker, Glasgow. They really know their stuff and the prices are better than the former who are sitting about dealer price levels IMO. Run by Douglas, ex BMW master tech, and Vincent.

Congratulations on that milestone - impressive. Even more impressive is the condition of your Coupe Gary - from seeing it I would have no idea it was anywhere near that mileage - magic
Hope you find a good specialist - I'm lucky having a guy I trust (and very reasonable) down here. Just rolled mine over to 60K at the end of this year . . .

Again I will give them a call and see what they say. Their site says he has an e46 m3 himself and his site advertises changing the bearing shells although not on the older s54 engine.
I have sent a quote request to B for BMW and will do the same for B&M.
Thanks for the recommendation.

As for both B for BMW and B&M,I know people who use both for general servicing, etc, but not for anything such as Vanos work, bearings etc.
So can't comment re that.
But, Drop Rich a msg,as he had his Vanos done somewhere, and was very happy(although not an m,still similar work).
Mr Vanos gets a good name, but I am sure Richie went elsewhere

Thanks Paul. Having someone you trust is worth its weight in gold.
Haven't seen you in ages so I hope you and Steph are well and we can have a run some time next year

Will ask Rich and get his thoughts. Very much still in research mode before I take the plunge and choose someone.craig3.2 wrote: โFri Dec 29, 2017 11:34 pmGary, well done on reaching 100k.AlfaScozzesi wrote: โFri Dec 29, 2017 10:59 pmWhat have you had done there?dgm wrote: โFri Dec 29, 2017 10:22 pm B for BMW are fine but personally Iโd go to another specialist nearby, B&M in Yoker, Glasgow.
