E89 prices set to nosedive?

Post by Poltergeist1966 » Fri Oct 20, 2017 1:48 am

I purposely bought the E89, for the fact it was a hardtop. Been down the soft top route with the missus MX5, and even further back with my S2 Elise.

If the E89 had been a soft top, then I for one wouldnt have entertained it. That will be the reason why I would in future, not consider a G29.

Sounds like you need a Coupe - all that space in the boot for handbags and other shopping all the time!
You must of missed the bit where I said that I would rather go car shopping, you would not see me shopping for clothes, handbags etc unless I really had to (eg interview, wedding etc) so boot space ain't an issue for me. :P

It all depends on the price of the new one. A substantial uplift over run out E89 prices and you should see those late model E89s retain their value. No increase, or a very small increase, and you'll see values for late models take the hit to maintain the relativity. Anything over about 3-4 years old is unlikely to be affected either way.

I think you’ll find that these new models will be more expensive than the out going version, name one new BMW using the same model designator that was same price as it’s predescessor?

It looks like it wants to play in the Jagggggghhhhh type territory
