DIY polish and front splitter install

Post by jmotsch » Mon Jul 31, 2017 12:53 am

I was planning on having my 03 z4 machine polished but for the price i decided to buy my own orbital polisher and give shot my self. I bought the chemical guys buf 209x kit with the torqx polisher. I used meguires ultimate compound, polish, and liquid wax. I am pretty happy with the results. Most of the fine scratches came out but there are a few deeper scratches that can be seen in direct light. Might try to cut a little deeper next time. I also bought an ebay front splitter for for $150. Painted it with a rattle can and 2k clear coat. Any suggestions on better paint cutting is appreciated.

what's going on with the front plate - look like its floating off the car, optical illusion? Over photo-shopped?

EDIT - just notice on your other pics, you have it offset to the left (still looks strange on the pic)

Here is a link to the splitter however they jacked up the price. Maybe because its their last one available?

I really like it. I had to do some slight trimming to have it fit properly. Best bang for the buck that i have found to alter the look.
