Z5....Hhhmmmm.

I've been looking at the recent shots of the Z5 and I'm hoping that body shape improves somewhat. Wether it's all the camouflage on it or what but it doesn't appeal to me. Looks lardy in the arse and too slab sided. Where's the z4's sensuous curves?? Looks a bit like an 80's Corvette.
JMHO. Tis all.

Pointless second guessing. Though it can be fun. Just have to be patient and wait for some photos without the Zebra look. :)

The camo is applied on shapeless panels that screw into the body, which cover all the actual body lines. So what you're looking at isn't the final design.

When you look closely at the picture you can see all the screw heads.

Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

Point taken. I just hope that they are 2-3" away from the actual body cos it just looks lardy.

I'm really looking forward to this car, I reckon there's a Porsche and F type chasing snorter under there. If the engine rumours and cost are correct coupled with the soft top for weight reduction that's no GT car. Here's hoping.

Not that I'll be buying one mind, at £70k rumoured thats waaaaay out of my league...

If it looks 'Lardy' and heavy, boring, bland, etc. then the cammo designers have done a great job.

Once talked to the XF designers pre launch and they said it was easy to disguise a car as for any given car sector it all comes down to a few critical lines and cues. Headlights/grille, bonnet lines, side crease lines, etc.

I think some form of dimensional increase is inevitable, taking the evolution from the z3, through to the z4 e85 and on to the e89 into account. Model sectors are just becoming really bloated. Just look at the official dimensions of the current e89 in comparison, starting from the z3.
I drove a 2 series coupe recently and thought it compared very closely with my old 3 series e36 coupe.
However my e46 m3 felt comparable to my e36 dimensionally, certainly from inside the cabin, so i don't think it's exponential.
I hope they do a good job on this one and haven't allowed Toyota to compromise the chassis or driving dynamics in any way. I understand they will be sharing chassis and engine/drivetrains.....

....then the motoring world will be inflicted with the living sketches of your average transformer loving 8yr old, BMW will be bankrupt, and my 35is will be worth £50k+ and rising by the day...

Just shows how differently people see things doesn't it, you love it and I'd rather walk.. :D
