Thought it was about time i'd introduce myself. After owning e46 m3's for many years I fancied something newer & more involving and the perfect coupe became available from a forum member & is a credit to him how nicely it has been kept & was a true gent in the process.

It has a few choice mods such as eibachs, supersprint xpipe, supersprint race back boxes & eventuri intake. The race exhaust is a little loud for my daily commute but love the sound at all other times. May consider the quieter supersprint but is fine for now.

The z4m is a different beast to the m3 you really have to think about what your doing whereas the m3 was a bit more composed but thats part of the fun I guess.

Hi I looked at E46 M3s for a couple of years and never bought one. Then started to think Z4MC and bought one in a few months. classic coluors silver red seats.

Welcome OP.

It's good to see someone on the forum who bought from a forum member - I sold my first one to another forum member.

In that colour yours could be really stealthy, although the mods tend to give it away a bit! FWIW I am not a fan of the privacy glass on the rear side windows, but on yours it ties in nicely with the black wheels.

I keep wondering about an E46 M3 - as a former serial owner I would love to know how you view the Z4MC by comparison.

Nearly forgot, it's good to welcome another Coupe owner - you can drive it all year! Enjoy. :driving:

Welcome and yes I understand!
Been trying a few trackdays I thought I knew but the Z4MC is, as you say, a different beast to most things.
Like the 911 of old, I think this car is very fast with the precise right treatment!

Couple more dirty street pics. Still learning the car its much harder to drive fast than the M3 but more rewarding.

Considering changing the Supersprint race to a slightly quieter eisenmann though not sure how it will mate up to the supersprint xpipe as it doesnt have the flanges, if anybody knows or is interested in a swap let me know

The supersprint x pipe is made for the back boxes so you'll have to change the x pipe too unless you start cutting and welding etc.

Supersprint make some quieter back boxes, could be worth a look?

Here is a photo of how the xpipe connects to the back as you can see there's no flanges as per oem.

So will an eisenmann not connect up I dont fancy cutting or welding. With the supersprint powerloop the quieter version be a perfect fit?

Not sure its worth the hassle or extra expense unless I source a cheap oem xpipe. The current setup sounds fantastic & not the loudest exhaust I've heard just if I daily drive to work it might get a bit tiresome stuck behind some slow traffic. On the 2.5 hr motorway drive back from where I bought it was perfectly acceptable not droney at all.

the s54 is a incredible piece... sadly it doesnt sound too hot exhaust note wise, and finally after nearly a decade... I've decided to go back to a stock rear muffler, i just cant take the drone anymore, and the noise is just sheer exhaust volume, i;ll keep my large bore setup and race cats and run the stock muffler i cant wait to actually enjoy the car for more than an hour without wanting to head home.
