Quite like it so far, shame we cannot see the roof!

dunno-looks like it's on stilts or something. Needs to be lowered a couple inches. Doesn't look as proportionate as the current Z4, either. Meh, I'll pass.

The front end is refreshed Z3.....
I'm sure it will grow on me.
I heard it will be introduced on 15th of December.

until i can see one in person, i'll try to choke back the little bit of vomit that just came up.

but that said, this looks like a cell phone pic, which often induce nausea... i wanna see some studio shots and then the shows.

Looks pretty good to me. Does indeed bring back memories of the Z3 which I'm not sure is a good or bad thing.

Know it'll be a grower on must of us, as with most new BMWs.

I may consider it next dependant on price and how much of an increase BMW decide to lift it to..... we shall see.

Oh, and is that a fabirc roof I can see (behind the ballerina)?

Think its the front silver window liner that brings in the shades of Z3.

Well they hid the new break between front wing and over the side repeater well.

Reserving judgement until I see a quality set of shots of it and even better a real one, but I think I will like it.

I particularly want to see that front end a bit clearer, but fundamentaly it's an evolution of the Z4 that we know not a revolution like the 3 to the 4

Don't know about you guys, but every time BMW release an updated model my first impression about the looks is pretty lukewarm and I usually prefer the previous version.

But then after a while it's strange how the new one grows on you and the old one starts to look dated. I guess it might be the same with this but I'll wait until I see better photos or, preferably, see it in the metal.

As covered in another thread, unless they do a proper coupe version of the new Z4 (and unless it looks nice), I'll be happy with what I've got.

Overall it's not bad and I'm sure it will grow on me but there are some things I don't like.

The headlights just look a bit forced. the design isn't as natural as it should be. Same for the side vents, someone wanted a hint of the Z3 vents in there and put them in wether it needed them or not. With the headlights and front bumper they've just tried to make it fit in more with the rest of the range.

The old Z4 was defining it's own style, the new one is a bit too compramised for my tastes.

Will definetly go see one in the flesh when they start having them in showrooms over here.

We still can't see whether the indicators are on the mirrors or not, or the type of roof for that matter. Why did that bloke have to be in the way ...

From what i can see i dont mind the headlights and grill look more agressive which i think the Z4 needed on the front end but not liking the rest not so muscular looking but as said above need to see one in the flesh.

I heard Chris Bangle say something along the lines of, "if you're out in front (with design) nobody's there to congratulate you when you arrive."

Agree totally with the statement above, it sums it up nicely. Rarely do top designers get it wrong............but do sometimes.

ha ha... The same thing might be said about those so far behind (with design) that everybody's left the grandstands. Sadly, that likely explains the automotive homogeny of "design for the masses," which BMW for the most part eschews... they're often the "top Tom" the other cats copy.
