A tripe shop doorway somewhere in Lancashire
Got fed up with decorating the house last Wednesday, sun was out - so was I :) . No matter what you drive, it's what cars were made for

Watch it at 1080p full screen. Lancashire is lovely

Absolutely! Mr. Beetle.

Mr W, next time you're up that way give me a yell & we could meet up somewhere and I'll buy you a brew. That area is my old bike stomping ground, love it up there, it's a huge area as you know, spreading up into the Dales via Ingleton and Hawes and right across to the Northumberland Moors if you wish. We're lucky to live here :)

Great vid Dewi, extremely tastefully done in my view, shows off the countryside really well and I even liked the music in the background!
I'd happily come on a meet-up in and around these areas if there is interest. I did a (solo) trip a couple of months back all around the Dales - pretty much sticking to large sections of the Tour de France route so that covered lots of the Ribble/Hawes areas and I loved it - clearly the Tour organisers chose the route as it shows off the landscape in its best light. I'm not as good a photographer as you chaps appear to be but the scenery was fantastic nonetheless. I slightly extended my route at the beginning as I wanted to go to Kirkstone Pass in the Lakes and I was lucky with the weather that day; driving round the back side of Ambleside was glorious.
Stevo

Great drive !
Thanks for sharing.
Now I understand why so many Brit Zeds don't need cruise control.
Over here there is nothing similar.
Our 'ditches' would be littered with the carcasses of distracted and aggressive drivers.

Cheers
Bumpy :tumbleweed:

No gas stations or cops in unmarked cars ?

More Bowland miles today :driving: after a stayover on the Fylde last night we kicked off this morning on the coast before 50 miles home via Scorton & over the top's into the Trough of Bowland , a great drive if you ever get the chance through Dunsop Bridge & Whitewell Bottom's meaning a inevitable late lunch at our favourite hostelry The Parkers Arms in Newton Bowland

Andy, great pics..we'll have to have a meet at the Parkers Arms.

It's a while since I had the pleasure of driving the Forest/Trough of Bowland roads. From memory it was back in the day of the MX5...2006 ish.

Look forward to that mate, the knee is coming on nicely now, a week since the op

I'm sure you know the area Mark but if you've never been to the Parker's you are missing a treat , just no other place i know where you can step off the world for a few hours
Some good offers for January if you stay over so treat the lady & yourself

Funnily enough were were discussing whether to have a blast to the Lake District before Christmas, & stay overnight.

The Parker's & Bowland might be another cunning plan :D

You won't be disappointed , open fires , great atmosphere + food is top drawer & the landlord is real character , mildly eccentric in a Basil Fawlty kind of way :D

Looked like a lovely day and agreat road. Scenery very pretty - although the trees seem a bit sparse for a "forest"! Lovely car too. Unusual colour.

Oh, it does have trees in places, lots of them but in this case the word "forest" merely denotes a royal hunting ground - which was used by the house of Lancaster. It covers a vast area of land, a large bit of which spills over into the West Riding of Yorkshire. If ever you get the chance come up for a visit, it's beautiful and a lot less "touristy" than the Lakes and Yorks Dales - some cracking roads too with great pubs for lunch in lovely little villages.

Bit more of it here, the last couple of bits are Ribblehead and Whafedale.

I have no connection with the Lancashire Tourist Board :) I just love where I live
