srhutch, that is exactly what i meant. I never said my particular car would be worth 70% more. I said another car, same spec, in mainland Europe, would do.

M Coupe in NZ
2 out of the 4 NZ new coupes up for sale on www.trademe.co.nz listings 1972340055 and 1985442660. Both low K’s, $50,000 and $60,000.
Another Blue one sold last year for around $45,000 from a dealer. I’d like to know how many M roadster’s there are here.

I’ve been planning to sell my Z4MR this spring for a while, but as it closes in I’m just not sure what my rationale is! I’m doing virtually no miles (1200mikes between MOT’s) but do need access to a car of my own from time to time so would have to replace it with something.
Can’t see anything for the same price or less that would offer an improved proposition. The fixed costs are a bit annoying with such low mileage (tax, keeping servicing in order on time intervals) but can’t help but think there isn’t really an alternative that would offer a material improvement in those areas. Particularly as we seem to have finally hit the point of stable/gentle appreciation.

You have hit the nail on the head. I happen to like the Audi B7 RS4 convertible (for completely different reasons). But they have even more expensive bits. An Audi TT puts you in the dullard club. A Boxster or a Cayman would need to be the smaller engine to reduce it's costs. A smaller engined Z would perhaps not fulfill all your desires having had an M. You may need an E89 but just can't be sensible enough. You will need to keep trawling until you make your mind up.

Totally agree - I’ve looked at those options plus a few others in my endless classified trawling! I was considering a Lotus Evora / Vantage but given the low use the car gets i don’t want to tie up that much in a car, then there are C63 / RS / M3 - all great I’m sure but each with higher running costs and depreciation risk.Trav wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 12:08 pmYou have hit the nail on the head. I’d definitely go for a Porsche but to get a good spec Gen2 car (911 or Cayman) is again a chunk more than the Z4M! I had hoped to go 996 Turbo next but prices are so firm that’s out the window for now.
Z4M is in a niche of its own almost at the moment.

I was a bit shocked to see this one pop up in a garage near me. It’s an ex forum car that has been in the ownership of paulgs1000 for the last few years and was Sammyz’s before that.
