Z4M Top Gear Review =)

Post by Andy » Wed Oct 15, 2008 3:37 pm

i knoooooo it's a repost... but some newbie owners may not have seen it, and this forum is pretty static sometimes... plus it's hard to find new links as they get taken off youtube.

So, for anyone who owns one, and hasn't seen it.. here is the Top Gear Review of.. the Red Narga Chilli.. :D

Quite an entertaining read, Cayman v MC: http://www.topgear.com/content/features ... /06/1.html

If anyone's interested in Z4M reviews:-

There's a good review by Jason Plato from 5th Gear on Youtube somewhere that is very entertaining- he loves the car - even when the gear stick falls apart!

Also Evo magazine did a comparison between Z4MR, Porsche Boxster S, TVR and Z4 Alpina. Good article and you can guess the winner! :)

Andy,

it was from May or June 2006 I think. You could probably order the back copy off their site. It was a red roadster in the test :) There's also a two page ad for the Z4M again featuring a red roadster, so it's worth having for those of us with the red uns.

The Evo article might be floating around the net somewhere, try Google. They used SteveD's car and he was an active Z4 forum participant at the time, though mostly on Z4um. I think someone posted the article at the time.

That first link goes to the Corvette Z06 video - here's the one for the Boxster S vs Z4M Roadster.

Here's a Japanese head-to-head with a 350Z, S2000 (heavily tuned), Cayman and Z4MC.

Or is it? The driver of the Z4 had his traction control on (excluding the last lap ofcourse) the other cars were permanently off!!

I would still like to think it would beat that pesky Cayman though!!

How is that a drawback,,,,you can turn a faster lap with the traction control off, in wet weathe,r if you have the necessary car control skills.

I see what your saying but you need some pretty good skills in those weather conditions, if it were dry I think it would be a much closer race between the two, especially around a tight circuit like tsukuba.
