What about a V8 vantage? 3 pedals, sound great, look great?
What about the MT E92 or E90/3 M3?
The S65 is very wonderfull.
The driving experience is very attractive and (interior) quality is quite good.
Also easy for use for grocery shopping :P.
And a huge aftermarket support!

Dunno what the value is in the UK.
But a good example will raise in value soon.

Hmm they say G-power is easy to install, perhaps another member can help.
And yes, more power than the brakes need some love to, the rest is optional :)
I've already got the other bits - as I always do those before I consider adding more power

Hmm, now there is an option. Looked at a DB9 when we bought the maser but needed proper rear seats at the time, although I did wonder about a Rapide instead of that and the Z4, then sense hit about the V12 running costs. And McGurk isn't too far from us now :)

I thought the TT being a bit older might be a bit more olde skool.

Cayman R possibly out of price bracket, but a Gen2 one is withing range - just think they might feel a bit too similar to the Z4 but there is one a couple of miles away we can prod at.

thanks

After my Z4MR...I went manual E92 M3, then E90 330i, then F56 Mini Cooper S, and I now have a manual 370Z Roadster and a DCT F82 M4 Coupe.

I recommend trying the F82 M4(or a M2), because it might be big and heavy...but it is a hell of a lot of fun though. In its halfway house traction setting(MDM) it lets it slip and slide a bit...without the fear of sticking it into a field. It is very fast, but it is still a lot of fun too I reckon. :driving:

I've had an Audi TTS quattro, and it was as dull as dishwater to drive for me(a great all round car though).

To be fair an f-82 M4 is a cracking suggestion. I reckon personally they're a bit too fast for the road, and with the dct I found it a tiny bit one dimensional on track after a few stints, but undeniably it's fun and a hell of a car, they're so fast, turn in is awesome, and the chassis stability is something else.

I agree with all of that.

I'd personally prefer a manual over the DCT for sure(the M4 is super rare with the manual though), and I miss the 3rd pedal/extra interaction that the manual offers for definite. I've driven the M4 over 100 miles today and I certainly concur that it is a bit too fast for the road, and a lot of the time I do get frustrated because you can't use the performance to be fair.

In saying that though when the road does open up and the conditions are good...it does put a massive smile on my face for certain. :D :driving:

I went from my Z4MC to a M2 and love it.

I did not like the DCT version at all, but the manual is a great drive. Yes, the interior could be better, but the drive more than makes up for it.

Just to chime in on this. I have a Z4MC and a E92 M3 and drove them back to back today on the same roads and similar speeds. The Z4M was much more exciting and enjoyable.

Before purchase I drove the M2 (non comp) and the E92 M3 back to back and much preferred the M3. That said, I now have a DCT M3 which may be part of the problem. My issue with the manual M3 was partly the gear change and clutch and partly the ratios - broadly speaking the first 3 gears in the manual are equivalent to the first 4 gears in the DCT, which made for a more exciting experience.

I do wonder if a manual comp would be a better stablemate, although I'd miss that V8.

Struggling to think of alternatives with 4 (half decent) seats though.

However, if I didn't need 4 seats, I wouldn't be replacing a Z4M with either a E92 M3 or an original M2.

You can bang in a shorter final drive into the e92 m3 for not a huge amount of money - that'd certainly make it more entertaining! Tegiwa do bmw motorsport final drives for the e92 m3, as I'm sure would Everything M3s in Banbury. Cracking mod on the z4m/e46 m3 so should be pretty ace on the e92 as well!
