Spacer Size For 224s With B12 Kit

Post by Iggy » Sat May 29, 2021 8:43 pm

Hey all! I've currently got 224s with the Bilstein B12 kit and would like to push the wheels out a bit to be more in line with the arches. I've done some reading here and elsewhere and it seems that 10mm spacers all around should pretty much do it. But I've also read that 12mm also works well at the front. I'd like to use the same size for front and rear so my question is, would 12mm work for front and rear without any rubbing or is it best to stick to 10mm? If anyone has any photos or experiences to share of running a similar setup I'd love to hear from you :D

Gratuitous photo of the car as it currently sits...

Why do you want to stay with the same thickness spacer front and rear? .. just measure what you need and order accordingly. ... And you'd wanna order hubcentric ones.. or don't order.

Thanks for the advice! I'm only looking at hubcentric. My thinking for keeping front and rear the same thickness was that i don't want to disturb the relationship between the front and rear track widths too much. Though a few mm might not actually make a noticeable difference. What I'm not sure about is what the limit is before i get rub on a lowered setup.

You pays your money and takes your chances - all for the sake of cosmetics :P

We've had people who run 275 rears without rubbing, yet others with the same car, wheels, suspension get rubbing with 265s. Others run 245 fronts without catching the arches on heavy lock, others can't get above 225 fronts without issue.

No-one can guarantee what will or won't rub on every car. You'll have to fit them and then add your data to the knowledgebase

Haha! Agree with that. I've done a lot of research and have gone through many a wheel thread. Think i know what I'm going for now. Hopefully will have something to add to the knowledgebase very soon

This is mine running B12s and 10mm spacers up front. It just feathers the wheel arch when loaded up on turning so wouldn't want to go any thicker with the spacers.
