Blond moment. My brain (what's left) said water temp and my fingers typed air temp. It is the water temp.

It's ten years on this forum that's done it. :D

Chinchillas for me…make better ear muffs when they die.

But back to the original question…

Mine doesn’t go above about centre on a forum run, but then I tend not to drive flat out for 30 mins like I do on track…and anyone who even tries to is a fecking nutter.

On track, in summer, I can see 125-130 on the gauge (which might not be particularly accurate anyway), and once I even got an amber warning temp warning on a particularly hot Ring day in August.

Nothing since then, but I tend to stay away from the Ring at peak summer times as the hotel & ferry prices, combined with the very busy track, makes it not as enjoyable.

I tend to go to drive in March to May, and September to November…and go to watch the N24, VLN/NLS or historic races in between these.
Didnt you have an S54 that knocked its bearings out with low miles?

Not me.

My first engine had a top-end/valve issue at 23,000 and was replaced under warranty.

My 2nd engine started making noise at 140,000 miles (163,000 on the car in total)…and I decided to not risk driving it any further until I had the whole thing sorted.

Some bits now over 163,000 miles, some less than 1,000 miles.
