Glad you got sorted without too much hassle. ๐Ÿ˜Š
Well unfortunately I had my mini clubman JCW stolen a couple of weeks ago while it was in having some paint work at a garage and just been through the hole insurance BS that comes with it. Ive had the house broken into twice so im beyond paranoid... just seem to have super bad luck. So really my paranoia got me in more hot water ๐Ÿ˜‚

Just don't like the idea of booting up a cold car reversing it 10 yards then turning it off to close the garage.

Glad all ended well and your car looks great btw.
I stood by the front door for 3 hours to ensure that didn't happen!

Thanks the cars getting there :)

One more reason to leave the roof down in the garage. Means when you reverse out and get out to close the door, you can leave the engine running without worrying about locking the keys in the car. Works well for me as a sunny day driver. :D

Haha, when I read the header,I too wondered what it was going to be.
Classic.
Glad it was an easy fix,if not a cheap one.

I thought the car wouldn't re lock itself until above a certain speed?
I e,if you reverse out/move off,it dies the autilock if he doors, but if you open the door it cancels it,and mine doesn't re lock unttil I am back in the car,and get above a certain speed.

Must be different settings on it then?
Can't say I have noticed.

At least someone didn't come along and try to nick it.

Scary how quick too many people know how to get into cars.
Car was sat looking like you parked it that way to show it off, haha.
Looking nice and shiny at least

I had a problem with the car when I first got it after coding it with Carly the dash lit up like Christmas tree after I coded the 3 click indicator so the specialist set it to factory defaults to clear the issues. Seems like the computer had a bit of difficulty after the coding as half the coding options in Carly aren't suitable for the car. Thankfully resetting it fixed all the issues.

Mine locks as soon as I drive off but I had the drivers door ajar as I got out a couple of seconds later so the lock shut but the door was open if that makes sense so I didn't open the interior door handle to release the lock. When I parked it up it was on an angle and the door shut itself locking me out.

Thanks I'm pretty chuffed with it I spent 3 weeks on and off giving it a stage 2 detail and it came up a treat, made a little video

Im not too fussed about the money I was just mad with what a stupid situation I found myself in

Ye been one thing after another recently.

Unfortunately they claim on your insurance to get the money sorted pay the PCP etc then go after the garage otherwise it can take months to get resolved. We got above market value for it thankfully but just a pain sorting it all out as it had my private reg and you have to pay to put it on retention but can't put it back on the car for 6 months for obvious reasons. All sensible but annoying to sort out.

That must have been a bit of a worry Tom. :o

I knew there was a reason I always get Autolocking disabled on my BMWs!

Although I did close the tailgate on my E46 Compact while the car was locked and the key was still in the boot.

Luckily it happened at home so I just unlocked it with the spare key!
Coupes because stunning!

Yeah, thought that might be the case.
At least you got good money back for it, usually it has to be haggled back and forth to get a decent price.

Some insurance companies are good though, had a new, Leon Cupra written off when it was just over 18 months old (bought new, way back in 2002), and in 2004 my then insurance company gave me Full market value of ยฃ13500 ( they held their value reasonably well then,as were ยฃ16500 new), and they even sourced me a slightly newer,2003 model with a tad less miles, from a local main dealer, and agreed a price with that dealer for what they were willing to give me...made it a refreshing change,as insurance companies can be hard to work with at times.

Hopefully you get a replacement ok.

Be good to see the z4m again, and I'm sure John would love to see his old car again.
Hopefully see you at the National meet mate.

you are very trusting, I'd not leave my car running like that to close the garage.

Have to say having the connected drive app on my phone for the F11 does help ease the mind with these situations as it in effects mean I have a spare key with me at all times.
