Please can someone point me in the direction [or post a picture ] of where I can find a picture of the central catch mechanism on an 06 Z4M bonnet
I've been looking at RealOEM but it's not that clear.
I think that a part has dropped off....but I'm not too sure

yes, there are two either side of the bonnet at the front but, there is also a central ring fitted in the bonnet, next to the safety latch, but there doesn't seem to be anything for the ring to go into - as my bonnet is not closing properly but just clipping onto the safety latch I'm trying to work out if the problem is something missing from the centre or that the 2 side ones are not working properly.

You might be onto something....I think the problem is sticking cables. But there is a central ring fitted to the bonnet but actually nothing for it to clip intoRonnie3232 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 5:53 pm Nothing goes in middle, it is the ones on front two corners

Yea bonnet is made using same mould as the older cars so the threaded hole is still on it for catch, oil the catch’s and cables. You can remove catch’s to do this but mark them as there is a lot of adjustment on them, there are also rubber buffers that bonnet closes onto, these are adjustable but from memory easy to break and awkward to adjust, from memory you turn the large plastic nut carefully a half turn and the buffer moves up and down but if you bonnet is sitting ok when bonnet is closed then they don’t need adjusted.

I've ordered a couple of the buffers as one is missing the buffer part and the other has it but it isn't moving up & down!
I also just remembered why there is a middle ring....I thought it had dropped off a year or so ago and fitted a 'replacement'. In hindsight it was just a sticking cable [ which I have just determined is the current problem and is now sorted ].....anyone need a new ring, hardly used!

Yes I remember having a similar issue with mine when I purchased it and found it a bit of a pig to get right. It needs some patience to get it so.
