EcuWorx remap for Z4M

Post by AlexRL » Fri Sep 18, 2020 6:35 pm

Evening all,

Has anyone got any experience with the OTS remaps from EcuWorx? I know they are available for the E46 M3 with the Evolve software (for roughly £250), but I've had no reply from them as to whether they are compatible with our Z4M's - I suspect not as I believe our DME units differ.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Alex,

Correct their e46 m3 software is not compatible with our cars.
Good news is I've been working with them over the last few months on our mss70 dme, I'll create a thread once it's done.
Feel free to drop me a pm if you like.

Hi Tom,

I would also be interested in the outcome of your work with EcuWorx. I contacted them on Monday with the very same question as Alex has asked, but have had no reply yet.

Look forward to the thread.

Hi Tom, do you know how ECUWorx are progressing with the Z4M DME? Another interested person here to ultilise their Binary modification tool.
Thanks for your efforts to support the community.

Sadly I don't think he has the time or inclination to work on it given the market is so small.
He had compiled an MSS70 read tool which we used to read my ecu last august, since then it's all gone a bit quiet :(
I will drop him my customary every couple of months msg to see if he is interested in continuing, express some interest too to him if you haven't, can't hurt...

Thanks for the update Tom, I understand why it wouldn't be the largest priority as the market is niche. Will submit another enquiry through his website, has been 18 months since I last did it so worth a try.

EcuWorx remap for Z4M

I'm still doing bits and piece in the background guys but things were on hold whilst I DCT'd my E46 M3 but now I've put that back to manual I can start to pick this and a few other bits back up.

Everything I do I like to test on my own vehicles so really could do with picking up a Z4M of my own for testing.

EcuWorx remap for Z4M

Hi,

Actually there is, I picked up a Z4M coupe after moving my M3 on and i've been slowly working through the ECU on the Z4M, so far I've nailed the following:

- Recalibrated warm up lights on the cluster
- Secondary Air Pump disablement / removal
- Cat efficiency DTC removal for decats
- Launch control
- De-limit
- Rev limiter recalibration

The remap is currently still in development, but from my datalogs things look promising.
